Thought you guys doing FB might be interested in this. Could be just speculation or them just experimenting with different ad sizes to make room for more ads per page. My guess, they're trying to make premium ads more appealing to branders since these new ad sizes only affect self-serve ads, the premium ads really pop next to the smaller self-serve ads.
Read about it here.
TL/DR

Wonder if existing ads will resize or have to be edited/reviewed again :S
It's going to be SO MUCH FUN changing all existing ad sizes in photoshop.
Ugh.
This move will delete all their existing banned image databases, and we can continue to submit our images that can really yield HIGH CTR.
Don't know if you guys do agree but all the recent changes by Facebook is telling us affiliate to fuxk off from their platform.
What is it with these idiots? How much smaller can you possibly make the banner size so it's still visible to the human eye...
Actually it was the smaller size most of the time, they always asked for a 110x80 image and showed it a little smaller.
Only recently they started showing real 110x80, most people didn't even notice.
The only reason I noticed the size wasn't as big, was I was trying to be a smart ass and create an ad where the text continues into the image with the same font and size, and realized that my images were being resized...

Yes, I have slightly noticed this but didnt know for sure if its true?
The annoying thing about this is the resizing has killed the sharpness of many of my ad images and has caused borders to change colours slightly. Well, at least now I know to work ay 99x72 and often check the ads to see if they are displaying at that res. Time to sort out an awesome Photoshop batch process that resizes them, keeps sharpness, then re-adds borders and such. Yay automation.
