Benchmarking Tracking202 Hosting

Im trying out some new hosting for my 202 setup and I've just stress tested it with Blitz.io.

I managed to rush 1-250 visitors in 60 seconds without any timeouts and 120ms load times.

The key is....

this was FREE hosting!

Setup:

* Prosper 1.7.2
* Cloud server
* 200MB Ram
* Mysql with 10MB Ram
* Memcached with 10mb ram
* Simple Landingpage with the T202 JS Embed code, no redirect

Here is the page I loaded:

HTML Code:
<html>
<head>
	<title>Testing 1</title>
</head>
<body>
	<h1>Test 1</h1>
	<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
		cbr202=Math.random()*10000000000000000;
		document.write('<scr'+'ipt language="JavaScript" src="https://my-tracking-202-domain/tracking202/static/landing.php?lpip=217&202cb='+cbr202+'" type="text/javascript"></scr' + 'ipt>');
	</script>
</body>
</html>
Now im sure you all want to know where I hosted this.

You'll have to wait!

Im testing a number of providers and once I have a conclusion Ill share the result with you.

But please share your own benchmarks.

Actually I just realised!

Blitz.io does not interpret the Javascript and therefore its not a fair reflection on the performance of this server. Ill change it to redirect and repost the stats.

I'm definitely interested in this , I am looking for a VPS right now. How much do we have to wait??? hehe

Google is 112MS. That is a pretty good free hosting service!

Here are my results from yesterday test:

I hit up to 25 visitors to landing page that has prosper javascript inside it.
But this was real landing page with several variations (lp genius).
400 to 600ms load time...

This is new server and I'm starting optimizing it now.
Will posts more results after optimization is done.

Some stuff were working on.. :-)

This includes a browser header redirect, stat processing a browser data dump.

miki -> what did you use to do the testing? loadimpact?

Yes, loadimpact.
Is there something cheaper or better ?

load impact looks pretty solid

Tyler, is this some tool performed locally (in the same network) ? (the network latency was not accounted for)

03-20-2012 11:09 AM #13 tijn (Moderator)

Hey miki

The stats Tyler shared are from Blitz.io and are therefore including network latency as they are external to Tyler's datacenter

Its exciting stuff!!

The benchmark includes all network latency. Same facility as stmforum.com is hosted from.

It's not available to you. Sorry.

My Setup:

Images are hosted on MaxCDN.

Result from Loadimpact:

The landing page is about 150kb in size. Consists of 85% image and 15% document.

You can't go wrong with BeyondHosting

Whatever performance you are getting now will just get waaaay better with new P202. Optimizing everything (again) for speed, high number of concurrent hits, and more.

I'm not sure I get this, you are running a hosting company pimping a server that your not offering? Doesn't add up.

It is great to see some benchmarks from different hosts. Here's mine from a 1Gb VPS on WiredTree. I crashed it a couple times with PPV a while back and upgraded to LiteSpeed + MemCache, but still haven't been happy at high volume. Lander is just an image hosted on CDN and the P202 tracking script. Lots of timeouts after 150 users per second -- not good.

Because its not prosper? The slow part of this industry is only 40% server, 60% of its software.

I agree the tracking software is slow. But I never said anything about prosper, I don't use it, I asked about the server.
