Facebook Reach - How the hell does it work? (8)
Hi all,
I'm trying to push my reach up on Facebook but can't workout where I'm going wrong?
I've only got 4 ads as a small test, they have great ctr 0.2+ aimed at 20mil+. I set my bid at 0.50 much higher than Facebooks estimated 0.32-0.56, Facebook is now telling me that because of my CTR i can bid at 0.28 in the right hand box however I've left it at 0.50 in a hope of increasing my reach. My reach is only hitting 7-10k, where am I going wrong?
I'm also running each ad in a seperate camp with their own $15 budget.

Your reach is a measure of the number of people that have seen your ad. If you have a low budget, Facebook will intentionally limit the rate at which your ads circulate through the userbase. Imagine if you were able to maintain your 0.20% CTR while showing 20,000,000 people one impression each - you'd get 40,000 clicks and spend $10,000 to $20,000 depending on CPC rates.
If you've only got a $15 budget you're not going to get impressions on millions of people.
Ok, I've pushed my budget upto $100 but my reach hasn't budged. My $15 budget camp is reaching 25k & the $100 is reaching 7k :/.
Edit: Facebook makes no sense what so ever? My $50 budget project has almost triple the reach of my highest CTR ad and that has a $150 budget?
Wait for the next day.... If CTR is good enough FB should deliver it to a large reach, provided your bid and budget are set high enough. If reach is minimal try raising bid. Don't expect any miracles with same-day quadrupling of your reach just from upping the budget to $150... especially with one advert in the campaign. Try duplicating the same ad in the campaign if you're still lacking the reach you want.
Ok, my affiliates tracker broke last night so I had to pause 4 ad's for around 5-6 hours (I've read a heap of stories regarding pausing/changing budget). I've now re-enabled and the ads have maintained their CTR but the clicks have really broken! I got 40 clicks in the first hour & for the last 2 hours i've not had a single click! I've pushed upto 100k reach on 2 ads now & I tried increasing the bid right upto 0.70 to try kick start it with no luck!
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Often when you get heaps of clicks then none it's because Facebook is responding to try and spread your clicks across the day to evenly disperse your budget. Solution: keep bid high and raise budget. Also, may sound dumb, but make sure the country you're advertising too is actually awake at the time before getting concerned about low click amounts.

I went to bed around 00:10am and thought I'd just check one last time - I'd manage to spend something like $20 in 10 minutes & my reach had doubled lol. Anyhow, I tried raising one of my lower preforming 0.100 ctr ads to 0.70 per click which seems to of put me back on track & the clicks are steadily dripping back in!
dont be afraid to go crazy with the budgets, if an ad goes well for me, I set the budget 10000-20000 and then set the budget to $2.00 if i need to slow down.
