OK, so since I've been a member more than a month now it's time I did my first follow along.
Ive learned a ton here, I've been working hard creating lots of campaigns with POF and LeadImpact, and I feel like big profits are reallllllly close. I have a couple campaigns keeping their head above water, but overall im still not profitable.
This will be a bit different than most follow-alongs since I want to start it off at conception and I want to encourage everyone to give their best advice. Kind of like one of those books you read when you were a kid and you chose which direction the story went.(well you probably need to be in your 30's to know what im talking about there cuz I think they were an 80's fad).
OK, ready to give me your best PPV ideas? aaaaaaaand begin
Just Kidding! Im not going to be THAT lazy.
I want to start this off differently than I start most campaigns. I have come across 2 sites on LI that get good volume (burn a $10 budget in 20 mins) and have ZERO Competition. I want to pick one of the sites for this follow-along to test offers/angles.
Let's Get Started!
Site 1:
Traffic is almost 100% US. General Interest is Hip Hop Music.
Here's the quantcast profile:

Site 2:
Most volume is US but also significant volume from 2. Germany 3. Canada 4. UK.
General Interest is Gaming(Favoring Sci-Fi/Fantasy RTS/MMO)
Here's the quantcast profile for US demos:

I want to move quickly so Day 1 - let's decide which site to focus on, and the first offer/angle to test. Once I decide which site/offer type to go with I will create 2 Landers and start testing today.
I am leaning towards Site 1 since I made $200 by spamming it with a dating offer for a couple days last month
(they made it hard to do since then).
Any input is appreciated and encouraged...
I don't really understand what you're looking for? Types of offers that might match these demographics?
Site 1 - You had success running a dating offer here, so I would suggest keep pushing. What/who "made it hard to do since then"? Take a different angle and give it another shot. If you've found an offer that converts on a target, try running it on targets with similar demographics or topics.
Site 2 - If it's a Gaming related site I would try a gaming offer, or quizzes or other interactive fun things.
I'm new here, and I understand the concept behind your "interactive" Follow Along, but I would take action and start testing, then share your results/data and make adjustments based on feedback. Only way to know if something will work is to test.
@goodrich
Thanks for the input. I wasn't "running" a dating offer. I was spamming my link (not the direct affiliate link, but a lander) in the sites comments, and they made that impossible after a few days. So yeah, that's why I say im leaning towards a PPV version of that, but just wanted to hear other peoples input. I will be begin testing today no matter what so of course action is being taken.
OK gotcha. So what have you tried so far on PPV? Build on whatever success you've found. I've not had much luck with dating on PPV, it was difficult to target precise demographics.
If you've found a gaming target (Site 2) that you like, for whatever reason, rotate some offers on it and see if anything converts. You can direct link but I like LPs because they give me a quick indication of the demographics level of engagement with an offer/idea/angle. Games are good a place to start, at least they were for me, however they aren't going to bring the big profits. But they're easy - for an LP I just used a background image screenshot from the offer page, an auto-play YT video and a big call-to-action. For targeting go niche (easier) and match offers with similar games, or go broad and match demographics (harder).
Also, high volume and low competition on a target doesn't automatically mean it's a winner. The target might not convert at all, and that's why there is no competition.
Well for PPV traffic make sure you're set up on a good web host, VPS or dedi and a good CDN. You don't want to be losing traffic cause your server can't handle the pops. Then I would suggest you download pop up software, not just lead impacts but all of them and start spying on pops to see what people are running. It might save you some time testing offers. Don't straight up rip landers, you never know how long that landers been popping and it might be popped to death already, use them for ideas and tweak them to make them your own. LI works direct with a lot of advertisers, so they won't allow you to run those offers they are running internally. Also they don't like toolbar downloads, since they usually pop their competitors ads, and registry cleaners/spyware removal type offers aren't allowed for obvious reasons.
If its a high traffic domain you're targeting make sure you have a decent budget to test and set your frequency cap to something like 1/72 (once every 3 days) to get the biggest bang out of your buck. If you have your pops set to distribute evenly throughout the day keep in mind lead impact will spend your budget evenly, ex) $24/day budget will get you $1 worth of pops per hour. You can also use google adplanner or similarsitesearch.com to find related to domains to test, affexpert tools are good to get domain and keyword ideas as well.
Good luck
