First LP Attempt With Prosper202 - Is This Going To Track Correctly?

So i created a landing page and Im following along all the steps to get this on and going.

I inserted the Inbound Javascript Landing Page Code right above the </body>tag on my first page.

The step I did skip was "Option 1: Landing Page: Outbound PHP Redirect Code:"

Is this necessary for my page? Will my LP track correctly without it?

I skip this step and went to #7 Get Links. When i click the link everything shows up fine. Can some please guide me. Im just following along but at the same time, i dont know what the f8ck im doing.

i think you need that php code in a seperate file and name it like offer.php, then in your landing page anywere it links out to the offer in href, you put in offer.php, so that first java inbound code is what records the user that hits your lander, then when they click the offer link, the second php code tracks that, giving you a accurate LP Ctr, if im wrong somebody please correct me, ive always done my lps like this.

Yeah, this is correct. Without it the tracking basically stops at the landing page.

So how do i make that file? Do i open a notepad and paste that code? Also, where do i upload it to my web hosting? Sorry if these question sound stupid but this is my first attempt into creating a LP. Im following along a video i found online and with your input its making a little bit more sense.

ya just create a new .php file in whatever you use to write your code in be it textpad or dreamweaver and name it offer.php and paste that code in there, then in your web host you just put it in your landing page directory, so you would have landingpage.php and offer.php in the same folder.

In my home directory i have it set up as index.html and another folder for the images. Now should i change index.html to index.php?

I created my LP with WYSIWYG. This is not my expertize. I have a camp that is not converting well and i would like to test it with LP. Im used to doing direct linking without prosper. If i changed my extension from html to php, would this affect the LP? It looks like it's required for proper tracking. And where do i upload that PHP file that im going to create with the notepad editor.

well it needs to be .php, index.php and offer.php

More than likely just changing the file extensions to .php versus .html should not damage the coding at all. Especially if you're using WYSIWYG, it should make any adjustments for you.

Thank you all

With the help of this forum i was able to input the "Inbound Javascript Landing Page Code" on my LP and create another page for the "Outbound PHP Redirect Code."
What's more important is that i now know what this sh*t does. This is my first LP which to me is highly needed. I get great CTR on my camps but conversion are not high enough to profit. Now i learned the missing peace to this puzzle. It's time to test.

Peace!

nice man, now just split test landers, see what is getting you the best lp conversion rate and work on it like a surgeon to get that number up . i would recommend lpgenius if you want to split test alot, i think ctrtard sells it at lp-genius.com , or just search the forum
