I cant seem to figure out how to track multiple creatives on POF using cpvlab? I have way to many creatives to track and cant be putting every creative id in manually. So how do you make that happen? Thanks guys.
im stuck fellas. could use your help.
Use mr.green's pof uploader and auto insert subids/creatives. Then in cpvlab, setup and capture extra tokens for those subids.
ok i used the pof uploader and did the auto insert. just not to familiar with capturing extra tokens? can you specifically tell me how to do this?
when you upload your ads to pof, end your click-thru urls with &keyword={creativeid:}. pof will insert the creative id as the keyword in cpvlab. i dont use extra tokens.
ok so here are screen shots of my cpvlab and pof tell me if i'm missing something?
here is a screen shot of cpv visitor stats page. i cant figure out what im missing????
Anyone care to comment?
under redirect type, use double meta refresh. this hides your traffic source and lander from the advertiser.
pof looks right. when you load your campaign url into your own browser, does everything track properly? as a test, copy your link. paste it into a browser. change =EDIT or ={creativeid:} to something like test123 and take a look at your stats. does test123 show up as one of your keywords? if test123 shows as your keyword and your campaign url works fine, then you are good to.
I did that and it worked. So do i have to manually add the creative id for each ad? also is there a way to have so it tracks by subid instead? since when you use the pof uploader it assigns a subid automatically? would be easier to identify quickly.
Here's what my upload screen looks like
i add a sub id to my ads so i can identify version (ad copy and image) but this does not show in your tracker
i do not use sub id on the click-thru url. every ad in your campaign will have the same click-thru url. when you use ={creativeid:} cpvlab will get the creative id of the ad as your keyword
keep in mind that when you use ={creativeid:} your stats will have have no meaning because they will just be a bunch of numbers, but once you have data, you can for example see an ad that has gotten like 20 clicks but no conversions. search for that creativeid on pof and shut it off.
If you want something more meaningful on your stats let me know if you are using text ads or banners and what size. also how many images, headline and bodies. i will take a screen shot of what I used to do to track stuff.
I am adding subid's on to my creatives as well. Those are the stats i am looking for on your thumbnail. i am only running 310's right now. i have 40pics and 4 adcopy per age group, 3 age groups per sex. testing pics first then ad copy. my first organized campaign. I want to make sure everything is working properly.
This is what I would do then. break your banners into 4 groups, 1 for each ad copy. folder1 = 40 ads with copy 1, folder2 = 40 ads with copy 2, folder3 = 40 ads with copy 3, folder 4 = 40 ads with copy 4. make sure that in each group, the images are in the same order. picture 5 should be the same in every folder, picture 13 is the same in every folder. you will see why later.
do not use &keyword={creativeid:}, end your urls with &keyword=
if you still want to use creativeid, you can use &keyword={creativeid:}- (the - is just a visual seperation from creativeid and subid in your stats.) only problem with using creativeid is you can't really sort your results unless you export to excel and do some manipulation
use add subid to both creative name and click-thru url (see images)
you will need to run the upload 4 times per campaign, once for each ad copy. for each upload, change the 2 sub ids and the folder name for your ads (see images) do not change click-thru url for each upload session until you change the campaign
subid 101 = ad 1
subid 201 = ad 2
subid 301 = ad 3
subid 401 = ad 4
for 3 age groups you will run the upload a total of 12 times, only changing the click-thru url when you change the campaign/age
so your uploads will be like this:
age1, subid 101, new click thru url
age1, subid 201
age1, subid 301
age1, subid 401
age2, subid 101, new click thru url
age2, subid 201
age2, subid 301
age2, subid 401
age3, subid 101, new click thru url
age3, subid 201
age3, subid 301
age3, subid 401
when you look at your stats later you will be able to recognize your ads like this
105 = ad 1 pic 5
408 = ad 4 pic 8
240 = ad 2 pic 40
140 = ad 1 pic 40
etc
or if you are using &keyword={creativeid:}-
56445637-105 = ad 1 pic 5
56432998-408 = ad 4 pic 8
47328648-240 = ad 2 pic 40
47823648-140 = ad 1 pic 40
etc
Let me know if you need clarification
perfect man thank you. Thats how i would like it to read so i can identify them quicker anyway. ok i have to run. i will implement this tomorrow first thing and let you know how it goes!
that worked perfectly!! thank you
