How to calculate daily income with different timezone ?

How do you deal with ads network on different timezone that yours and aff networks on another different ones....
I'm trying to get my daily stats and its getting difficult, how do you deal with that ?

you do all your stats the next day and do it by date, so for the 3rd of march, your networks total and your traffic souruces total, do it by date basically

I don't worry about an hour or two difference. Whatever the numbers I get from the network and traffic report for Mar 1, that's what I use.

With that said, I do roll up my stats over a 3-day average to compensate. So, e.g.,

3-day-ave-ROI = (sum of last three days revenue - sum of last three days spend) / (sum of last three days spend) * 100

This smooths out any time zone differences.

great stuff, personally thing is in that scenario I'm in gmt-5 running on a traffic source gtm-7 for a aff network gmt+1, so its a lot more that 1 hour or two... makes it a headache for daily stats (I'm direct linking everything, so the numbers are on their respective interface...). but you totally right, I'm tend to more and more do a 7 day calculation for things that are working, I'll take your advice on a 3 day basis for other camps.
cheers

That is some crazy time differentials there. When I'm in the testing phase of a new campaign I usually check stats on traffic source, tracking, and network every 2 hours to make intraday tweaks. But get why it's a bit difficult seeing an accurate daily picture with those big of time differences. But, if you have a campaign running for more than 3 days then looking at the daily 24 stats would in essence already be averaged for you wouldn't they?

totally, I was just trying to get *today* precise earnings and with my traffic source not letting me specify a start hour (only per day) I guess I can't.. so today actually means nothing :-)

I just encountered the same problem tonight trying to figure out day partying stuff.
I did everything with pen&paper at first like a caveman like this because my tracking wasn't working (alternative p202 solution further below)

aff Network time: 0 1 2 3...
Ad server time:4am 5 6 7...
My local time: 11pm 12 1 2....
Where my ad is showing time: 7am 8 9 10...
3/2/12: 0 1 3 0...
3/3/12: 1 2 1 1....
and put conversions on each hour, i had them tallied up to get an idea of what time of day my conversions were happening. I typed this in chat with the rows going horizontally, but on my paper here they are vertical

this also helps for converting 0-24 time zone reports to 1-12 am/pm
start counting the time in the zone you want to report on, so if i wanted to find out where my ad was showing i would start on where my ad is showing time: 12am, 1am, 2am, 3am... then fill in the other times using that one as the first key. the above graph (sad excuse for a graph, looks better on paper, probably even better in excel) is for figuring out aff network time since it starts at 0

The modern way using p202
1) log in to p202
2) click on my account
3)Time zone, change this according to the time zone where your ads are showing
4) click update profile, then go back to t202
5) overview->day partying -> the time zone is changed, no more pen and paper.

only thing is some conversions did not make it to my t202, not sure why. I looked up each conversion IP from my network, and went into visitors tab on t202 and put in the IP of the conversion to see which ad converted for the keyword/ad. Some were not in t202, so it might be better to stick with your aff network data and group them like inversion mentioned since that's what your actually getting paid. You could use the t202 data and count the ones it doesn't get as a bonus from the network lol.

damn, what a rant. Just realized this doesn't exactly answer your question since its about spend/rev day lol. oh well not gonna erase this, might be of some use to someone

Maybe there is a setting in your network to change the timezone report to match the adserver?

I would just do what inversion said lol. maybe try downloading the reports at the same time each day or something like that to figure out day spend/rev

This is what I've always done as well. When I lived in Australia and was dealing with 5 different time zones sometimes I figured this was just the easiest way.

i use CPVlab it allows you to check stats in your own timezone, when i'm testing i use Neverblue / Adsimilis as they allow you to also look at stats at your time zone.. When i hit profitable, and am expanding towards different CPA networks, really i dont care that much anymore i'd do what inversion said, rolling it up every 3 days in average.. Don't worry about it too much, worry about getting profitable!

Yeah I just go by date. It's not ideal but it seems to work.

thanx for all inputs guys, I dont talk when using a tracker right ? and not on networks that allow to set a timezone. so this network just say : you spent xxx yesterday.
I just realize I can set the timezone to match this on Adsimilis, so this will do. Dont think I'm going crazy with this, I just hitted a milestone and wanted the exact value :-)

Are you using prosper/cpvlab? Can you not just view all your data in prosper/cpvlab in a specific 24 hour window that corresponds with your traffic sources/spending timezone?

no, I was talking something else.. nevermind, this is fixed.

ps : why people do subjective posts on closed threads just because they can....

What he said, and what others said (that is exactly what he said).

By date is the simplest way for sure, it's all relative to me, if you're spending $$ on ads at 12am at night, your network timezone may have rolled over to the next day, and your advertising platform might not have..

In turn, you get a 'head start' on the next day's income, but then that head start is compensated for at the end of the day, when it all begins again.

Go by date and focus less on stats and more on killing shit!

Not gonna lie, I'm brand new to this and I'm already a stat fiend... data is addicting

Yeah stats are addicting but it's a huge time waster refreshing stats when you could be improving your campaign, scaling it or building new ones.

^^ That's like a drug for us IMers.. can't help, and (EXTREMELY) hard to get over..

I don't think date is accurate because there is still an overlap, no?
