Carriers Who Don't Convert As Well

So we know that for some offers, certain carriers/handsets etc just don't convert, but does anyone know the reason for this? I only have guesses. I'm mainly talking smartphones.

I would imagine that certain handsets might not convert because they're slow and maybe the offer/tracking takes too long to load, so the user never ends up at the offer page.

As for carriers, maybe some have slower data speed than others. Another thing I can think of is that maybe some carriers have more pre-paid plans or pay as you go type plans, so those customers may be less inclined to spend extra money or download an app because the data is limited.

Anyone else got any ideas on this or actual info on this? I think this would be a pretty good thing to know and might help in campaign planning.

It mainly comes down to compliance, what carriers do and don't allow. Some carriers don't allow premium SMS. Verizon is strict, AT&T and Sprint is more relaxed.

Different phones, different screen sizes and resolutions. Sometimes the disclaimers and / or checkboxes are just too visible I think.

^^ You can have the same phones, same screen size on different carriers but the same type of offer would convert completely different.

I was actually wondering about the same the other day. I think there may be a correlation between certain handsets and certain demographics ( for exampe iphones=most likely young demo with higher income etc etc). Different types of phones appeal to different people. Also different carriers may appeal to different demos as well(at least where i live).

And on some networks you do find explicitly described those requirements, with great precision, while on others nothing is said...

otherwise I agree with the demo thing...
=> some carriers have more pre-paid plans or pay as you go type plans, so those customers may be less inclined to spend extra money or download an app because the data is limited.

nice thinking here !!

And at contrario prepaid phones seems to work well for dating, free stuff for young people etc....

Didn't think about the limited data. Nice insight.
