Facebook Account Deleted

I'm wondering if someone can help me shed some light on this...

I set up a Facebook campaign last week, it was nothing too serious - I just wanted to see how things work and get a hang of their system. My ads account was set up on my main personal account.

Friday afternoon I received a number of e-mails stating that some of my Facebook applications had been disabled due to my personal account being disabled, here's an example:

Hi,

Your personal account was recently disabled by Facebook. We are writing on behalf of the Facebook Platform team to let you know that any applications that were under your sole control as a developer have also been disabled as a precautionary measure, which include: xxxxxxx

For more information on recovering or transferring these applications, please visit our FAQ page: http://www.facebook.com/help?faq=17556 .

If your account is disabled, please note that the Platform team cannot re-enable your account. To find out more about your disabled account, please visit this page of our Facebook Help Center http://www.facebook.com/help/?page=1048.

Thank you,
The Facebook Platform Team

Now has my personal account been disabled because of the ad? I was under the impression that I would only lose my ads account but it was a payday loans ad and it did get approved which is strange.

Bit annoying as I've read that if your account is disabled without a warning then there's no way that they'll re-enable it or even tell you what you did wrong!

That's facebook for you. And don't even try contacting them, you'll just get a copy and pasted email after 3 weeks about how they cannot help you with that problem.

payday loans on facebook ads? That's why your account got banned..Always set up a separate account for advertising otherwise you'll get screwed over.

what was the vertical that you try to promote on Facebook? Rebill? Biz Opp?

Yep I was a little naive by the looks of things. Just didn't realise the personal account would be deleted in order to remove the ads account...
I was promoting payday but I only ran it for a few hours then paused it. Was planning on getting back to it later this month.

Email them and ask them to return your personal account with the ads function disabled.

Might have to give them a bit of a sob story but people have been able to recover their personal accounts in the past.

Yeah... They will disable your personal account at their discretion. Note that pausing a campaign puts you in no different position to having it active - deleting it would be a different story. Don't run (or cloak) dodgy verticals on your personal account.

They most likely believed that you were cloaking to a biz opp. Good luck on getting your personal account back, but if they suspect that you ran a rebill, then you'll never see the account back.

I lost my personal account a year ago. Really sucked.

Has anyone tried making a new personal account, not using the advertising section, and just cruising under a fake or slightly different name? I suppose the real loss is all the history, photos, tags, etc. Oooh, do all your comments disappear? That'd be hilarious.

Thats weird. I've never lost a personal account like that. I had a FB ads account tied to my personal that I cloaked on and got banned and same with my buddy, but our personal accounts are perfect!

If you have 2 advertising accounts, all different info, different cards BUT signed up on the same IP and you get 1 account banned, do they ban every account connected to that IP or do they just do it based on CC?

Flip a coin on that one. If you are logging in from the same IP constantly on both of them then yeah they probably will link it. Otherwise they'll possibly link them by another method. Otherwise you're just lucky. You may want to get a dice instead of a coin.
