Hi!
Intro:
First of all I wanna thank STM crew for organizing this contest. There are some really sick follow alongs already and they gave me pretty much everything I needed to lunch my first mobile campaign . Having said that , I wanna also say thank you to all the guys participating in the contest! Huge amount of info (which can be a bit overwhelming at first) is always a good thing!
What I have done so far today:
- read whole Angry Russian's - "14 Days to Master Mobile Marketing" (sick!)
- read some mobile follow alongs in the forum
- opened and account with JumpTap and deposited some funds
- decided what offer I am gonna run, where and how
So here it is. My first evar mobile campaign. I guess it won't be anything fancy but it's better to do it rather than thinking about doing it. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step
My campaign details:
Traffic Source: JumpTap
Offer: Battery Doctor Android App install - UK
Payout: 0.90$
Offer Network: Neverblue
Offer Specifics: All carriers, Android ONLY, UK Only
Budget: 25$/day
Why this offer? Well I borrowed doryphoros's trick from another thread and I counted down to the 5th offer on Neverblue's mobile offers. See below:

Ok I was kidding with my offer picking method hehe. I guess it is just a coincidence it's the 5th offer. Anyway, at first I wanted to run dating but there are already few follow alongs with dating and JumpTap so I figured out I'll do something else . I am pretty sure that I am going to run dating for my second campaign though unless someone recommends me smth different
I have no real data about this offer, besides the fact that it's kinda new (at least in NB) and I have a feeling that it may suck hard but whatever (never assume anything right?) The offer is an App Install.
Converts on a download and first run of the app. The app itself claims to improve your droid battery life UP TO 200%!!
Here is my JumpTap setup:
Daily Budget: 25$
Campaign Schedule: Show ads all day and hours/Evenly Placed/ Max Freq. per user = 5/
Campaign Targeting: Target by Platform/Android/All Android Phones AND "Mobile Websites" (WAP) > I may create another campaign for APP traffic only.
Language: English
Location: UK
Carriers to target: ALL UK carriers
Categories: ALL except RON
Tracking:
I am not using any tracking script as I am afraid my current server may be too slow for mobile. So no offer rotation, no landers. Simple DL straight to the offer.
JT parameters and my NB tracking link:
http://lwken.com/click/?s=xxxxx&c=62...ANDSET-JT_SITE
As you can see, JT parameters aren't included properly as I have no idea how to include more than one subid in Neverblue? Anyone knows? I have also no idea if this tracking link will work and how the data will look like at the reporting section in NB hmm (it's redirecting properly though). We will see.
My Ad banners (only 4 so far):
Ad1:

Ad2:

Ad3:

Ad4:

Ad3 and Ad4 have some simple animations (looping options set to 3 times in PS) so you may not even see it it's so fast :P
Outro
Thats it for now! The campaign is still pending, as soon as it's approved and I am sure that everything is working I may create some more banners and duplicate this campaign to test APP traffic as well.
PS.
Your critique, suggestions & tips are more than welcome!
Nice brah. Can't wait to see the results
The battery angle kills! Will give some feedback once I have some data to analyze.
Looks like a really good offer. I'd definitely download that app. I have an android phone and the battery life is terrible.
OK so here is the quick update as I see you guys can't wait for it hehe.
So after looong time all my ads in the campaign were finally...rejected
The reason given : "The ad is rejected for the following reasons:"Ad landing page must be functional". It didn't make sense for me at first as the offer LP is/was in fact functional! I was suspecting that it may be due to geo-location thing from Neverblue tracking platform (offer accepts only UK traffic). So I contacted JT and all is clear now. Apparently, they won't allow any offers where download of the app itself doesn't take place on Android market or App store (which was the case with battery doctor app) Is it the same for other mobile networks, anyone knows??
BTW. while I was waiting for approval I wondered what is the plan for the owner/developer of this app to monetize it. Note that the App is free to download and it doesn't seem to have any premium functions you need to pay for later on. He pays you 0.90$ for a download BUT how is he going to make money from the app? How would YOU monetize this type of app if you own/developed it?
BTW2. So my thousands miles mobile marketing journey ends with this single step. It was FUN while it lasted! I hope to get at least free ipad for this exciting follow along! Less is more
That android smiley face is adorable, I'm going to test that.
Those apps do work btw, there's a lot of extra programs and processes that suck out the battery life needlessly. I've seen this used with a short 3 question LP before....
