Jroes57 Late Mobile Follow Along Contest!

Im going to go with neverblue for my mobile offer:

Budget: $200
Tracking: Network Subids
Bid Price: 11 cents per click
Country: Ireland

Offers Landing Page:

Offer: WAP Win an iPad Ireland
Platform: Mobfox
Reason for going with mobfox is due to them actually having traffic in ireland as stated in the screenshot below

That is for all devices

Right now Ill begin making the ads and post them in a bit!
Ads:

Targeting:
Traffic: Mobile Operator/Wifi (separated)
Devices: Targeting by platforms first so iOS/Android (each in there own campaigns)
RON

Since mobfox only allows you to track by pub ids, that is what I will be optimizing first. I am using neverblue to track due to them being able to track carriers and handsets for me. Also mobfox allows you to block pubs on your own rather then wait for an account rep.

Heres my first three banners that I uploaded!

The campaigns are approved and rolling heres the stats so far:

Trying to get more volume to better test out my ads

As you can see I haven't gotten any android traffic yet, my CPCs are at the minimum for both campaigns at 11 cents and only targeting mobile operator traffic. I will be creating a second campaign to target wifi for iphone and then for android. Right now im trying to get a hold of my rep to see if CPCs can be lowered.

Not sure how much Irish traffic Mobfox have. I've always struggled to get traction with Mobfox, and my rep is next to useless.

Great banners though. Would be interested to know what the CTR is for each.

Keep it up man!

There's not much Irish traffic in general because it's a small country... but that doesn't mean not to try it. The country converts on many web offers and a steady longterm campaign can definitely be found with this country (lack of competition).

Anyways:

Up your budget so you can properly see which pubids are converting because that will be the main factor you have to narrowing down the converters! With only a couple conversions it won't be accurate enough.

Have you spoke with your rep? Does this offer have any volume on the network? Most new'ish offers i've tested without much history tend to convert very poorly

Thanks!

I asked Marty and he said it was good, the problem seems to be getting enough traffic to justify everything, CTRs are pretty solid above 1%, still only have the one lead. Ill post the stats up by the end of the day.

The banner ctrs:

Image name: 7274 2157 impressions 30 clicks 1.39% CTR
Image name: 7276 1945 impressions 22 clicks 1.13% CTR
Image name: 7275 2115 impressions 37 clicks 1.75% CTR

I am still trying to figure out how to track which ad got what lead. Right now I am just letting this run to gather data, to early to trim anything. I will be working on another campaign in a bit, scouring through my networks atm.

Updated to date stats:

So as we see, we got a lead from vodaphone but our EPC has dropped below my current CPC.

So the next step is to break down the data further by subids so I took my subid report form neverblue and since im tracking by these variables (Publisher, Campaign, Adgroup, Creative)

Stats form neverblue:
7274: 28 clicks 0 leads
7275: 42 clicks 1 lead
7276: 25 clicks 0 leads
7277: 29 clicks 0 leads

So as we can see banner 7275 is a little past breakeven and there are no sites to blacklist yet or carriers to cancel off due to them not spending enough yet. Thats all the data I have at this point stay tuned for more!

Newest ad added to the rotation:

Hey man , your banners look pretty cool.

Why don't you append ad names as the subid so you can track them?

02-25-2012 04:40 PM #11 shoent (Member)

could you not run this to us traffic to a mobile coreg?

02-25-2012 04:44 PM #12 jroes57 (Member)

You could, but I havent gotten that far yet, I decided to focus on the intl traffic seeing as it would be less saturated.

Bbrock, I am tracking the creative name, i finally figured out how its displayed, so I updated the named the ads with the adid I got form mobfox.

I paused the whole campaign cause I realized I was targeting mobile sites and apps, so I split the campiagn into 2 now, I am waiting for traffic to start rolling!

So apparently after making the new campaigns I am getting zero impressions, not sure what is up, maybe takes a while to activate?

The dilemma with MobFox...The Web traffic is good but there's not much or its super high CPC's.

There's a LOT of APP traffic but they have so many small pubs that you can hardly get enough traffic to get good traction or optimize.

It varies by country though but so far that's what its been.

Thanks!

So would you suggest runnign each one differently? like app vs web? Cause when I break them out, no traffic or impressions is served, but together I get impressions, maybe ireland doesnt have as much volume as I thought, which would make sense form the information eariler in this thread. Im in the process of getting another offer to split test in. One more question is it the same way in mostly all of their countries?

Im getting set up with air push right now, i just got an account manager, so I am drilling him for questions about the kind of traffic they have, what type of offers they are seeing and what countries have volume.

02-27-2012 06:21 PM #16 jroes57 (Member)

Okay so its another day with no traffic on mobfox, I am going to push this one and move it to airpush. Airpush doesn't allow banner creatives, so I will be using text creatives. They have mainly app traffic. I asked my rep about traffic in ireland and they have some. The minimum deposit is only 50 dollars. so not a bad traffic source

Traffic Stats:
1 million monlthy users in ireland
200k clicks a month
avg cpc: .06-.07

My total stats update on mobfox is:
Spent: $33.38
Revenue: $5.25
Loss: $28.13

Get an answer from them?

Do they offer CPM?
