Lost 430 clicks. HOW???

As you can see, my campaign ran for a few minutes and I got 430 good clicks for $21. All looking good. I am promoting a pay-per-call offer which has a $17 payout.

430 calls, i'm expecting at LEAST 1 conversion right?

1-in-430 isn't too much to ask is it?

I open up my reports and this is what I see:

Calls: 1
Conversion: 0

having no conversion would be fine, but having only ONE registered call?!

The way I can image this is happened is because in Jumptap setup I entered the phone number with dashes like: xxx-xxx-xxxx
That is my only explanation.

So i removed those now, let's see what happens.

Anyone else have any idea how this might have happened??

well for starters I hope you can figure it out so you can reply to your affiliates when you launch LIONCPA network

Guys, can I PLEASE have serious answers?

i'm just wondering, as 430 calls, I would expect at least 10 to show up.

I hope you are not linking to the network preview link instead of your affiliate link

From what i've read, most networks only track calls that are more than 1-2 minutes.

@ibanez: no, I'm not that big of a noob

@nitroman: yes, I get paid a commission if call is longer than 90 mins. But 430 calls and only 1 shows up which I don't even get paid for?

90 seconds you mean?
could easily be due to accidental clicks. I do this myself sometimes- accidentally fat-finger somethin on my phone & when it starts to dial I cancel it immediately. Are you advertising on app traffic (where the ads may be placed intentionally close to actual buttons for the use of the app itself)?

No, I advertise on websites. And even for accidental clicks. There isn't going to be 430 accidental clicks!

Ok hmate9, let me give you a solid advice, cant believe why no one suggested it to you yet... have you asked your AM these questions: Are you the only one noticing this problem? Is this offer converting and tracking properly?

I went to my AM first but he's not replying!

Will ask ASAP just wanted to get some suggestuons

Did you get your carrier setting wrong? Any sites show up in your refferal urls, trying to promote a paypercall on a free download site might not be wise. What does your ad look like, make sure people know they are going to call a number, and not visit a site. How many calls connected? How long were they connect for? It doesn't even sound like you looked an any of your data, just clicks and conversions. Why not really go through your data instead of whining for all of us to help.

What happens that when someone clicks on you ad they first go to a "landing page" (the one you set up in JumpTap) and this asks them if they want to make the call. They need to click again to initiate the call. This is where you "lost" all your clicks. Make sure you write ads and make it very clear that they have to make a call.

What are you using to generate that data, is that from a network or from a tracking platform and if so which one?

on mobile phones (all the ones ive used, anyway), when someone clicks on the phone number, it actually opens the "dialer" program on the phone with the phone number already entered automatically. a second click is then required in the actual dialer to dial the number.

so, if someone clicks your ad, its not going to automatically call your number, it will actually only open that number in the phones dialer. it seems most of your clickers chose not to dial.
maybe change your creative to make positive people know it will dial a number, and not just open a page or something. Even though it is a phone number, a lot of people out there still cant put 1+1 together.

Yeah, this is good advice.

What happens, for example, on an iPhone - when you have a Click-to-call ad - is that clicking the ad pops up a question: +1 (NPA) NXX-XXXX Cancel / Call.
If you haven't made is SUPER clear that the person is about to dial, well - they'll probably cancel. It's a paid click for the ad network. Nothing for you.

If you see this happening a lot, like gts6 says, make it super-clear on the banner that a call will be made.

Another option is to have a simple LP with a little pre-selling. Not sure what PayPerCall campaign you're running, but it should be relatively easy to set up a simple mobile-friendly LP that gives the person more info (and a good reason to make the call).

Finally, as driv mentions, many of these can be accidental clicks, which, again, cost you even when the person hits the cancel button.

Avoiding these is a matter of PLACEMENT and BANNER SIZE.
Talk to your ad rep - he may recommend CPM for better Click to call placement.

Liane
