Well figure I give this a stab without using any "methods" to show ya there is money in mobile if you take the time to test and optimize your ads and never assume anything.
Okay so I decided to run the ever popular Thumbplay offer through NB. Results are below.
Offer:
Thumbplay TMO
Country: USA
Payout: $9.50
Carriers Accepted: T-Mobile
Landing page of offer:

Set up of the campaign. First I went very broad, but split into 4 campaign groups:
- wifi banner
- operator banner
- wifi text ad
- operator text ad
These test runs were done at a cpc of $0.15
Text ads rocked. CTR was always near 0.7-1.3%
I didn't pass parameters at all, just direct link through NB. I spent about $800 to gather data on what devices converted and then test other variables such as wifi or carrier only.
Next step was to run an advanced report in NB's system and see which handsets converted the best. I found there were 4 of them that converted really well and there was a good amount of click volume. Also noted operator traffic converted best.
Next step was optimizing my ads. Changed targeting to those 4 devices only and target only T-Mobile traffic only.
Here are the results of a 2 day run:

Impressions: 42,337
CTR: 1.0%
Clicks: 411
I bidded $0.30 cpc
Avg CPC: $0.12
Cost: $49.94
Conversion: 23 @ $9.50
Revenue: $218.50
Profit: $168.55

To do: Try more variations of text ads and target only the music channel
Haha profiting with those margins off the bat, nice!
Nice Dudeman! Quick question though, how come the campaign is paused out?

Dudeman, did you have apps and web traffic all in the same campaign?
Nicely done, will be following this as I keep getting tempted to join the mobile bangwagon myself
Great numbers, nice margins! Congrats!
Whats catching me off guard a bit is the basic ad concepts/angle you took and still hit a great ROI.
Do you have a way of tracking how many clicks/cvrs came from web/app vs search?
What's even more amazing than the ROI is how you managed to have zero click discrepancy. Can't say I've ever ran a mobile campaign on JT that didn't lose a few clicks.
I suspect it has to do with reason #1

Once again Dudeman always pushing the envelope. I got so used to cranking out banners I stopped testing Text Ads.
I'm going to refresh all my campaigns with some text ads see if I see a lift.
i swore to myself i would never jump from one thing to another again and didn't want to get into mobile, but you make it seem so simple...
Just curious, how many days and clicks did you run for your initial test to blow through $800?
Also, was there any particular reason why you started with such aggressive bids? I find it difficult to break the $0.20 EPC mark on mobile offers, so just wondering what your thought process was in deciding to bid $0.30/click.
Great follow along! Definitely subbed!
^I think as he got more targeted, clicks were more competitive, therefore raising the bids gave him the most volume.
He said he started with $0.15 CPC at first: "These test runs were done at a cpc of $0.15"
^ Thanks man, makes total sense.
i have a problem with adding a pixel for this campaign on neverblue. They allow to "add a postback", and there is no way to add a pixel, like i did for all other offers.
And Jumptab, instead of giving one line conversion tracking code, emails you 3 files, with full pages of code that i don't know what to do with.
Any advice is appreciated.

Why don't I have "Search Results" option on Jumptap?
It is Websites or Apps instead of Web/App or Search Results.
Have they blocked this option?
any updates on this follow-along?
Alrighty, so I ran this a few days more and it performed pretty good as I narrowed down the devices it converted on. I know some of you will bitch n moan about me posting this but whatever...
Overall my avg cpc ended up being $0.14

What did I learn? Jumptap will tell you what campaign to run, what creatives are working well and landers too. Also learned how some people may get pissy cause I did a case study on an offer they are running at the same traffic source....deal with it
Great case study man. T-Mobile + Thumbplay for teh win. Interesting findings from Jumptap...Anything stopping you from scaling it up?
Fair call sir.
I love the last few posts toward the end where the content was removed. Any particular reason or just good shit you want to keep to yourself?
