How many impressions do you need to know your FB CTR?

Hi,
I have multiple ads on FB.
I see that some ads are getting a lot of daily impressions and some get only a few.
How many FB impressions do I need to determine my real CTR?
Should I disable ads that are getting a lot of impressions in order to allow ads with fewer impressions to pick up?

My rule(s) of thumb:

Any ad that is getting <0.08%CTR I can.
Any ads >0.08%CTR I keep running to see if they convert.
If they don't convert, I either switch up the offer or add a new LP and see if they convert then.
If they still don't convert, can it.

But really, I think you should be focused on making ads that will get at least in the 0.2 - 0.3%CTR range.

And hey - if you've got an ad that has a CTR of 0.05% and it's still making you money... disregard all the above rules and keep running.

From my most recent experiences you need ads well above 0.15% to get cheap enough traffic for dating.

Let it run to at least 10,000 impressions per ad to get a good enough idea of your ctr. Usually it'll stay that way for a while but fluctuate a little bit

Thanks guys.
What is your start bid on new FB ads?
When you have a new ad you want to test, how do you determine your opening bid?

I agree with groomez. 10,000 impressions per ad is a good rule of thumb - Always been mine.

If you find a couple of ads are hogging all the traffic - ie. they both have 10k impressions, whereas the other 18 have only 6-700 each - would you pause those two ads at that point to let the others get a look in?

10k impressions is about right. Sometimes you might want to wait a bit more.

Yep, just pause them. It happens all the time now in FB, hopefully will be fixed soon. It's a brutal hiccup in their system

What is your start bid on new FB ads?
Bid approx 20% lower then the suggested bid when you start -- until you see atleast 100 clicks. Then you can sometimes get away with 30%-40% lower than the suggested bids, but usually only if you have a CTR of 0.25%+

Yep, or make 5 ads per campaign. It's a huge hassle, but facebook still hasnt fixed it. I usually just pause, but sometimes it still doesn't give the slower ads impressions
