Affiliate checklist for getting your campaigns through the summer holidays ☑️

Hey guys,

Summer is a busy time as everyone is leaving for holidays. Your account managers can be off, your audience can appear less active and you can struggle to find time to nurture your campaigns in between swimming, hiking, family time, and sipping margaritas at the beach. 🍹☀️

That’s why we’ve prepared a little cheat sheet for keeping your business going while you enjoy some well-deserved rest. 😎

Take a look below and foolproof your summer campaigns! 👇👇

☑️ Plan your campaigns ahead of the holiday season
The obvious step to take before any leave of absence is to plan ahead. If you’re a seasoned affiliate marketer then you probably know what to expect in terms of traffic fluctuations, interest in the verticals you specialize in, or even temporary trends and spikes. If you’re fairly new to the industry, you might want to do some digging. We recommend some additional resources:

☑️ Ask your affiliate marketing partners for support
Everyone needs to take some time off at some point but let us assure you, your account manager will not leave you hanging. If you don’t know how to prepare your account for taking some time off, don’t be afraid to reach out. Fostering a good relationship with the networks you work with can be very beneficial.

In Zeropark, you are assigned an account manager once your monthly spend surpasses $2k. In that case, you can sleep sound during the holidays as your campaigns will be under a watchful eye of an AM.

If you’re not quite there when it comes to the spend, reaching out to the support team can get you better prepared.

☑️ Check your affiliate campaign setup

☑️ Set budgets and limits
This might be the most obvious tip for leaving your campaigns unattended… while still making money. Budgets and limits are essential if you want to keep any control over your affiliate marketing business. It’s best to set your daily budget, campaign budget, source budget, and optionally, target budget before you let your campaign run wild.

👉 Here are some suggestions suitable for mid-range payout offers:

Daily Budget: $100 – allows for thorough testing and usually covers the whole day of running traffic. Allows for enough volume even with a higher than average bid.

Campaign Budget: $300 – $400 – this amount is enough for testing your campaign for a couple of days. Once that budget runs out, the campaign should be assessed for potential and either paused or resumed with a new budget if you want to make it work further.

Source Budget: $20 – enough to test the potential of the source but also to limit the spending in case of sources with higher volume that would otherwise take over most of your daily budget and hinder your income.

Target Budget: $5 – Similar to the source budget, that number allows you to sufficiently test the traffic without risking uneven traffic distribution.

☑️ Automate your campaigns
You don’t want to leave your campaigns without setting up a fail-safe to protect your campaigns from traffic fluctuations and accidents. Zeropark’s fail-safe mechanism is called Rule-based Optimization.

Rule-based optimization, while extremely helpful for beginners and experts alike, can be tricky to use when you have no idea what you’re doing. The best way to get started is to set the default options suggested by the platform. They are safe to try and universal for any affiliate marketing campaign with an offer payout of $2.50 or higher.

If you choose to come up with your own rules, it’s highly advisable to message our support team (support@zeropark.com) and ask for a check/advice when setting your rules for the first time. They are always happy to help and ensure that everything is in order and that your ads have a chance of succeeding. If there’s an aspect of your campaign that might be a deal-breaker, it’s the support team that will tell you.

☑️ Keep your account secure by using MFA
What’s the worst thing that could happen while you’re away on holiday? You’re probably thinking of medical emergencies and losing your wallet but let us remind you about the third worst thing – getting your accounts hacked.

The best way to protect your Zeropark account is to set up Two Factor Authentication. Using only a password to sign in to any website is vulnerable to security threats because a malicious user only needs one piece of information to gain access to your account. 2FA places an extra layer of security on your account by requiring both your password and a second authentication code while signing in.

If you want more information on how to set up 2FA & other methods to keep your accounts secure, check out Zeropark’s Security Documentation, and never worry about the safety of your data again!

Enjoy your holidays!
