We have US/CA diet offers that have been running since 2009 and it looks like the majority of big rebill players are all international only now.
Obviously last year was a big year for the FTC vs. Affiliates, but I would think now is a great time for people to take advantage of an unsaturated market.
Is anyone still running US/CA diet out there- or should we just stay happy with the volume we are getting and focus on getting offers live in the hotter markets? (brazil, uk,etc.. )
i wouldn't say it's really dead..but the margins got a lot lower...also there is way more risk attached to it nowadays if you still want to run your campaigns with the same old marketing tactics like back in 2008 i would say it's a bad business plan..unless you calculate the ftc fees into your plan...and if you read some UK newspapers you can see that rebills in the UK are already dead..especially in europe stuff like that won't last long..and the FTC is not the only problem..what about the UK authorities? i'm pretty sure we'll read similar stories about lawsuits in the UK pretty soon...thinking that it's a safe harbour just because the FTC has no jurisdiction there is just naive. personally i hope that rebills will die although i made good money with them back in the days but it's time for a more legit business model so the industry has to adapt. just my 2 cents...and don't hate on me i know it's a controversial topic :-)
Rebills aint going anywhere :PI dont think rebills will die out for quite a while but Its definitely become a lot harder, especially from an advertiser stand point. (and affiliate stand point as well)
ibanez- we are not a network. We have been running on our own continuity offers for about a little over 6 years. We dont have US skin atm, but are planning on launching US offers in the next few months. Mainly focusing on Brazil and UK right now. Hit me up with a PM and ill send you details on our offers if your interested.
hard as f*ck to get a merchant account... we're in diet... but shit we're like running around for 3 months trying to get an INTL merchant account for rebills.... no luck.
Trust me - it's not just dead. Just temporarily slowed.
hey Ryan, any insights you'd be open to sharing?
took us 3 months to get an intl merchant account, then it was terminated... the rep apparantly lied to the merchant processor.... hard as hell to get intl processing for rebills in weight loss.
after what a few companies pulled in the past that were heavy in international rebills, don't expect it to get any easier....at least from the what's been said on the ground over here.
