One thing to point out: It's important to pick a goal that ALREADY aligns with where your heart is. Setting a goal where your heart just isn't there, and then forcing yourself to work towards it, would be so much less effective (and way less satisfying).

I see a lot of people picking their goal based on logic only, or based on some temporary negative emotion (like FOMO). For example, "crypto is all the rage these days so I HAVE to get myself a piece of that!" Or, "everyone is saying to run [some vertical] on [some traffic source] so I should do that too!"

Or even something more general, "everyone's saying there's lots of money in online business so I should start one too!"

But again - if your heart isn't in it, it would be hard to make things work out.

Even if you do manage to be successful in the end, the PROCESS would be unsatisfying and painful, and feel like a ton of unwanted work.

And isn't life about being happy? If we're always doing undesired work just to achieve a result that will provide happiness briefly, then we'd be unhappy for the most part of our lives.

Not suggesting to set a goal based solely on passion, but there is usually a way to please both passion and logic - we just have to dig deep.
