What tool chain should we use in email marketing?
Hi, here is our current situation:
We are selling customized e-commerce product, eg. personzlized furniture. the AOV is about $500-$1,000. We advertise on Facebook, on our landing page there should be a form to collect leads, the audience fill that form with their contact information and personalized requirements, some times they upload a image in that form. then we contact the user via email and try to close that deal.
our current tool chain is like this:
1. audience click the link in our ad.
2. audience fill the form
3. the form will create a ticket in freshdesk
4. we reply that ticket in freshdesk, then the user will got the reply.
5. if the audience deceide to buy, we send a invoice via Shopify
6. the audience click the link in the invoice and pay.
Our problem:
1. Freshdesk is designed for support, not for crm, so i think it's not a good idea, though I don't know why it's not a good idea. I never been using any crm saas software, eg. activecampaign or salesforce and so on.
2. I don't know if the audience has got our email reply successfully.
My question is:
1. what should I use? activecampaign? aweber? what is the best practice for the business like ours?
2. Which industry is similar to us? so I can spy to find out their ads and go through the whole process and find out their best practice and learn from them.

1. If it works for your use case, why is it a problem? Why changing something that works because you think it is not a good idea but can't articulate why. I would work on that question before the two you are asking.
2. This can be tested. Create 3-5 email accounts from different providers, and fill the form like a lead would do. You can also use an email provided by
https://www.mail-tester.com/ and see the analysis report for things to improve.

Did you think about using some of those customer support solutions that focus on ecomerce?
Several companies presented such products on the recent AdWorld and EcomWorld conferences.
For example : https://www.gorgias.com - that looks like a nice platform to manage customer support
Another one: https://www.chilipiper.com/ - these focus on lead conversion and speedy call scheduling which they claim increases the conversions a lot.
Many of the presenters mentioned https://www.klaviyo.com/ for automating the sales funnels, which seems to be a great tool again.
There are so many tools out there these days, it's super hard to choose just one

Thank you for your reply. Finally I deceide to use activecampaign. It has all the features I need.
Now my plan is this:
1. Find out the email address of my target audiences on google local business, they are event planners.
2. Put the contact information into activecampaign.
3. Send them email to promote my service.
Looks like a traditional direct mail business.

Activecampaign is good for managing email lists, we are using it for our STM newsletters too.
But I don't think it's a great tool to manage customers and provide support. You will need some other tool for that.
So what are you actually trying to achieve? Just handle the email list, send newsletters and marketing emails... or are you looking for some more advanced tool that will also let you segment the users, handle orders, provide support and keep track on that?

I need it to keep a track of the contact history, get to know which stage is it in, schedule follow-up emails and customer support.

Check out
https://www.klaviyo.com/ man, from what I've seen in the presentations, this tool is AWESOME when it comes to building customized automated flows and segmenting the leads and customers. It's not the cheapest tool though, do you have a big list?

I will definitely try it. The list is about 2,000 - 3,000 email addresses.

Oki, so it's not that big but they ask for about $70 a month with that many contacts. But, they offer some trial where you can import your list and send 500 emails to 250 contacts so it should be enough to explore what they actually have to offer and whether it's what you are looking for.
