AM Keeps suggesting offer...

What should you do when your AM keep suggesting you run the same offer?

She says that other Affiliates are seeing success with it, but I can't seem to get it to work.

The offer did get some conversions, but it's nowhere near profit for me.

There are two possible scenarios here:

1. The offer really is good.
2. The AM needs to push it for whatever reason. Could be a new customer they need to get exposure for, unused cap they need to fill, they have a high revenue share on that particular offer etc...

First thing to find out is what the case is It's not always possible but you can at least try. Check the spytools to see if this offer seems to be promoted heavily. Ask the AM for a network wide volume/EPC report and check how the offer stands in that report (they can always cook this a bit but chances are they wont).

In case the offer seems to be popular, you should consider giving it another try and change your strategy because maybe you are doing something wrong.

If the AM really insists, ask for help, ask for LP or creative samples, some info on traffic sources it works with... I mean, if she really tries hard to make you promote it, she should be willing to help you out.

But in the end, it's up to you to choose what you want to promote. it's not like all of us can make the same stuff work... so if you can't make it perform, feel free to move on, it's absolutely normal and the AM should understand this too.

See if other affiliates are running the same offer on your traffic source.

If they are see what they're doing that you're not, and do that too.

If you can't find the offer on your traffic stop running it and run offers that others are running.

Always take AM recommendations with a pinch of salt, it might be working on different traffic than yours.

If your AM is insisting on a specific offer that isn't working for you, I'd suggest to be direct with her.

Tell her that you tested the offer on traffic source X, Y, Z, using X set of creatives/landers, and getting -XX% or -YY%.

While doing so, try to get as much information as possible from your rep. Ask her about the traffic sources, ad formats and example creatives used to promote that offer. Also, most importantly, ask her what is the average daily volume of clicks and revenue the offer is generating network wide over the last couple of weeks. If numbers are awful and they don't add up, then most probably the offer isn't worth testing anymore.

You should use this as just one data point among many to make your decisions. At the end of the day, it is not the AM's money on the line, it is yours.

Also remember that most AMs are full of shit and the recommendations are completely made up bullshit, usually.

Even the top offers sheets they send you are completely made up most of the time.

It's a shitty business, but it is what it is.

So yeah, grain of salt and everything else said above.

I'll chime in here with limited knowledge. I have been recommended lots of offers so far, and nothing worked like they thought it would. Traffic source, experience, LPs, flows, specifics of WL and BL and WAYYY more variables determine offers success from person A to person B.

If I strapped into a 14,000hp funny car I would die, but there are drivers that do it everyday. Experience and skill allows them to barrel down a 1/4 mile at 300mph (yes I am American and we use mph here ) You can have the best race car on the planet, and not knowing how to drive it will kill you. This is how I see AM recommendations. They are taking the best racecar drivers cars and saying here you go guys, drive this.

9-10 times we crash and burn. Also, as a few people have said to me (like jaybot above)...

Also remember that most AMs are full of shit and the recommendations are completely made up bullshit, usually.

This is awesome advice. To the point, concise and most of all accurate as hell. They often just toss shit out and when I look for it in the wild, or whatever I can't find it, at least with my traffic type. Finding offers is really the name of the game and there is no secret sauce. Very tough pill to swallow, at least for me it was. But that's just part of the magic of being successful with this stuff.

A problem is that AMs can only see how the offer performs on their platform.

But (usually) they can´t see what traffic other affilates were running.

When everyone else is running the offer successful on FB or Tiktok or Google Ads and you are running it on push or pops it can absolutely happen that the performance is much different.

AMs also can´t see what ROI the other affiliates have on the offers.

To give an extreme example, let´s say an offer is at #1 on a network in terms of revenue and is making $100k per day but the affiliate who´s running these numbers is spending $150k on traffic.

Then the offer is still seen as #1 in the network but it´s running on loss for the affililate.

She says that other Affiliates are seeing success with it, but I can't seem to get it to work.
Just don´t run it anymore and also communicate it clearly.

It doesn´t matter how good an offer is generally, it won´t get you anywhere when it´s not working for you.
