PipiADS - TikTok Spytool - Review / Video Overview / Pros & Cons
TikTok has been growing in popularity like mad, so I decided to give it a try as well. And since I like to make my life easier, I started to look for a good TikTok Ads spytool.
I did some research and one tool seemed to stand out by far, most of the bloggers and reviewers would claim that PiPiAds (strange name, isn't it?) should be the best one.
Now, all of them are actually affiliates promoting this tool, so this might be one of the reasons why everyone praises it… hard to say really. But anyways, I decided to give it a go and buy it, so I can tell you guys whether it’s actually useful or not.

Disclaimer: Whatever I say in this review is my own honest opinion, I’m not promoting this service, nor did I get anything from them in return.

Pricing & Plans

PipiAds offers several plans you can choose from. There is also a free trial that you can take and explore the tool for $1 for a period of 3 days. The trial is not worth much as it’s heavily limited, because of their pricing structure. More on that in a second, I need to explain how they charge first.
This tool uses a credit based system, there is a given amount of credits you can use daily. Once those are gone, you are done for the day. They have 2 types of credits: Ad Detail Views and Advertiser Detail Views.
Whenever you view the details of an AD, 1 credit is deducted from you Ad Details credits. If you want to explore the particular advertiser in more detail, for example by checking their other Ads, that means 1 credit gets deducted from the Advertiser Details credits.
There are 4 basic plans.
The Free trial, which actually costs $1, comes with 5 Ad view and 5 Advertiser view credits per day. That’s something you will spend in a few minutes.
VIP plan costs $155 per month and it comes with 200 Ad view and 200 Advertiser view credits. This plan is limited to being used on 1 computer at a time. You can use it on multiple computers, but not simultaneously.
PRO plan costs $263 per month and it comes with 1000 Ad view and 1000 Advertiser view credits. This one can be used on 5 different computers at the same time, which makes it a better option in case that you work with a team.
ENTERPRISE plan is a custom one, for large scale operations such as agencies etc…
I need to add one more thing. The credits are only deducted when you view the actual details of an Ad or Advertiser. You can run a search and then browse the results without spending credits.
The search results also show some details, such as Ad views, popularity, category … and the videos will actually play for you when you hover your mouse cursor over it, but without sound.
This way you can preview the Ads quickly and only spend your credits on those that you really want to explore in more detail… this is actually a pretty nice feature.
On top of the daily credit limit, there is another one that limits how deep you can actually browse the search results at a time.
It’s 1000 with the VIP plan and 3000 with the PRO plan.
Each of the searches returns 1000s of results, but you can only view 1000/3000 of them. This limit is in place likely to limit the load on their servers but I didn’t really like it at all.
However, since you can finetune the search results to a more specific set of results, it’s not THAT bad. After all, you probably wouldn’t just browse through 1000s of random Ads in the first place. As long as you specify your search properly, the limit is not that strict.
Here is a quick screenshot of the search results page.

How Does The Tool Actually Work?
Ok so instead of making dozens of screens and posting all of them in this thread, I made a really short video that shows the basic functionality of the tool.
Please keep in mind it’s not supposed to be super detailed, I just wanted to show you how it works really quickly.
I think the video was good enough to show the basic functionality, so let’s move on with some more detailed stuff.
You can download any video Ad that you see in the spy tool. It’s generally not recommended to use the videos of other people, but many people are still doing this, so if that’s what you plan to do, PiPiAds will help you tremendously.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Search Results Filters
I have described some of the filters in the video, but let’s take a look at the rest of them.

Categories
PipiAds sorts the Ads by categories, there are 5 that you can choose from:
E-Commerce
Games
App
Dropship
Brand
I have to say that these categories are often wrongly assigned and there is also significant overlap.
Let’s take “dropship” as an example… basically all the dropshippers are selling ecom products, so it doesn’t make much sense at all.
They could definitely improve this functionality, but it’s better than nothing and it does help to find what you are looking for.
Basic
Country/Region: this one is self explanatory I’d say
Action Button: TikTok offers several basic CTAs , you can use these to filter the results. These can help to find specific offer types, for example “Subscribe” indicates some leadgen activity, “Install now” is used for APPs the most… etc.
Ecom Platform: They support the most known ones such as
Ad Type: there are 2 options here, non-branded and branded (spark ads). Spark Ads are ads run by brands through the tiktok profiles of real users. Check these in case you are into influencer marketing.
Landing Page: select whether you want to see campaigns that use a landing page or with a direct to offer link. Again, these are often wrongly assigned.
Data
Another self explanatory section, these filters let you sort the Ads by amount of impressions, likes, popularity, days running and what % of likes they get compared to the views.
All of these can also be used when sorting the actual search results in a descending format.
So for example, the most liked Ads first.
Period
No need to go into much details here again, this setting lets you find the Ads that have been running for the longest time or a specific period of time.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Ad Details
Let me quickly sum up what kind of details you can get for a specific Ad.
And just to repeat myself a bit, every Ad detail view equals to one credit from your daily allowance.
The Ad details opens a popup window with info, check the screen below:

PipiAds shows you what advertisers was/is running the ad, what display name and Ad text they’ve used and the CTA copy.
You will get the number of impressions, days running and popularity (likes/hearts).
There are Ad cost, conversions and CVR estimates… no idea how accurate these are though, probably not much. You will see the target GEO, release time, first & last seen dates.
There is a link to the actual video on TikTok and a link to the landing page used, if any.
You can also download the video Ad directly from the details page.
There is also a “Details” button that you can click to see more details about a specific Ad, for example more variations of their Ad text, see screen below:

If you want to find out more about the advertisers and see the rest of their Ads, you can click the “View Advertiser” button.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Advertiser details.
The advertiser Analysis page provides further data about a specific advertiser.
When you open an advertisers detail page, one credit get’s deducted from your account.
The advertiser detail page looks like this:

There is cumulative data displayed for each advertiser: total amount of Ads on TikTok, Ad impressions, GEOs targeted, first Ad seen date, days of running Ads, popularity, devices targeted, best performing Ads…
You can also preview all of the Ads for free, or explore them in full detail (1 credit per Ad again).
All of their Ad texts are also shown, but these are quite inaccurate for some advertisers for some reason… this is something they could work on again.
There is one significant problem with the advertisers details.
Let’s say that PipiAds identifies the advertisers as apps.apple.com, as was the case with the screen I posted above.
In this case, it shows all the Ads that promote something on the app store, which can be a ton of different brands or affiliates.
It works well with smaller advertisers, but it’s not really usable in many cases.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Collections
This is a great feature.
Whenever you find an Ad, make sure to add it into your collections.
You can create multiple groups and organize your favorite Ads this way.
Once you save an Ad into your collection, you can view it again as many times as you want, without burning credits.
I’ve quickly saved some Ads to show you what the collections section looks like, check the following screen:

Summary - Should you get PipiAds?
This spy tool has its strengths and weaknesses as well, just like any other tool
Here is what I liked:
Huge DB of Ads… There are thousands and thousands of video Ads up for grabs.
Solid platform speed and no real issues, it works the way you would expect it to.
Sufficient filtering options that help you narrow the search down and find what you want pretty quickly.
Solid amount of details about the Ads and Advertisers.
Link to the actual video on TikTok so you can check the reactions of real users.
Download option, it’s nice to be able to download the video Ads with a single click.
Here is what I didn’t like:
Weird pricing that’s quite limiting. The tool isn’t cheap so I didn’t like the credit system at all. It can become limiting when you start out as you’re eager to explore as many Ads as possible.
The limit on search results you can view. This is another annoyance, they have a HUGE DB of Ads but they try to limit how much of it you’re able to browse. It can become a pain in the beginning, when you’re just trying to understand what people are running. Once you narrow the search down, it becomes less of a problem but still… I’m paying so why limit me?
Occasional inaccuracies when it comes to categories, advertisers etc… this is a problem with all spy tools though, so it’s not a huge negative and I assume they are working on making this better.
No option to download landing pages. I know that a large part of offers are being directlinked on TikTok, but it would be nice to have some option to rip the LPs anyways.
So should you get the tool or not?
It’s a big YES in my opinion!
In case you’re about to start with TikTok, definitely go for it.
Just a few days of using this tool will dramatically increase your understanding of the platform and what kind of Ads are working there. TikTok is likely the most creative-heavy platform there is and the best way to understand what the Ads should look like is by watching tons of those that perform well.
I don’t think there is any way around this.
I can see how this tool is amazing even for those who plan to outsource the creative work… it’s much easier to show a creator a video sample of what you want them to shoot for you, instead of trying to explain this. And you can find tons of samples with PipiAds within minutes.
I have no idea if this is the BEST TikTok spytool out there as many bloggers claim on their blogs, but it definitely is a valuable tool with tons of Ads you can get inspiration from.
Definitely give it a try if you are serious about TikTok Ads.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
BTW: there is a 20% discount code available, pretty much every marketing blogger offers it.
Just google “pipiads discount code” and you will find it in a minute
I don’t want to send sales to any particular author, so choose the one you’re about to make happy.
Amazing post as always @matuloo!
Surely they could have come up with a better name, though ... what were they thinking?
Fantastic review! Thank you! Very helpful.
@cmdeal It could be worse - could have been number 2!

I have an ongoing joke about thats it's called "Pie - Pie" ads instead of "pee-pee" ads.
It has definitely been my favorite TT spy tool thus far.

Great review mate!
I haven't used the tiktok spy yet, but they do have something else under their belt that i've been using which is pretty cool..
For anyone that runs anything ecom/
There are a couple of these around such as "commerce inspector" that are all paid extensions that can show LIVE sales etc. Now i've never tried any of these because i just assumed that the results were estimated in some way and not really live results. So when i saw PPSpy i thought i would give it a go as its free...
Holy Shit!! I dunno how they are pulling the data but this works and it's pretty accurate! We've got a few shopify stores and i run this thing on them to test against real sales and it picks nearly all of them up!
, it seems to miss a few sales out here and there but everything else is spot on..
Nice review, thank you @matuloo. It's a good name, simple and easy to remember, hard to forget it, haha
it is definitely cheaper than what I pay for... I pay 1k a month for my spy tool.
PIPI ads is by far the most powerful Spy Tool I have ever used .....
