Bigo Ads Guide
More and more often, at arbitrage conferences, in chats and on forums, you can hear about a new and promising source of traffic - BIGO. We have prepared a complete guide for working with this source - let's talk about what kind of advertising network it is, what the Bigo Live streaming platform has to do with it, what tactics exist here, in general, we will cover everything. If you guys will be interested in more information about that, I will follow this paper with a real case study for 8000$. Let me know if i should do that.
Content:
- What is Bigo Ads and Bigo Live
- How to run traffic from Bigo Ads and on what
1. What is Bigo Ads and Bigo Live
The first thing worth mentioning is the fundamental difference between Bigo Ads and Bigo Live. Yes, by the prefix “Ads” you can understand that we are talking about an advertising network, and “Bigo Live” is most likely an application. So here's the catch:
- Bigo Ads is an advertising network that works on thematic and behavioral targeting and broadcasts ads on Likee, an analogue of TikTok (11 million downloads on Google Play) and on Imo.im, an instant messaging and VoIP calling service, that is, via in fact, a typical messenger (7 million+ downloads on Google Play).
- Bigo Live is a separate mobile application / social network / streaming platform with an audience of about 400 million people.
They are connected only by the developer company - BIGO Technology. There are no ads in Bigo Live. The application is monetized through a commission from donations to streamers (like on Twitch). Nevertheless, we did not discount this grid, because it looks like there is a lot of unused shareware traffic. But more on that later.
2. How to run traffic from Bigo Ads and on what
It is possible to run ads on Bigod ads from a fresh registered account, but it's better to get an agency cabinet. With it, you can run several advertising campaigns from one account, top up your balance without having a card of the required GEO and get access to an extended pool of countries. And in some cases, you can avoid additional commissions on advertising.
Where to get agency accounts
If you decide to run traffic on agency accounts, then it won’t be difficult to find. Firstly, they are available on the Applink, network, secondly, just ask in a couple of arbitrage chats and the sellers will write to you themselves.
How to register and run a campaign in Bigo Ads
It is easy to create an advertising account in Bigo Ads: specify your mail, password, select "advertising account" and fill in the details of our company (geolocation, phone number, currency, time zone, name of the cabinet, link to the company's website, industry). You can find this information on Google Maps. It is enough to find some digital agency and enter their data.

After the registration, we find ourselves in a typical advertising account. To create an ad campaign:
- Go to the “Asset” section, click on the campaign name, and then on the “Open links” button. We get to the page with analytics. This will display the changes for each ad - number of clicks, CTR, etc., as well as a cost report.
- To add a campaign, you need to go to the “Campaign” section, then to “Ad” and click “+Create”.
- We select the goal of the campaign - attracting traffic to the site or installing apps, and specify the budget. Then “Next” and the target setup menu appears.
When setting up a target, the webmaster has the following options available:
- The platform where the advertisement will be broadcast (Imo.im or Likee, or both).
- What to run traffic on - on the application or on the link.
- GEO, language, gender and age of the target audience.
- Technical settings: OS type and version, mobile networks, as well as the price range for user devices.
- Daily or total budget.
- Schedule.
- Your bid per click and budget spend type. You can choose "Standart" and then the funds will be distributed evenly for the entire duration of the campaign.
Or "Accelerated" to spend the budget in an accelerated mode.
- After targeting, go to the ad editor. Choose the type of creative (horizontal, vertical, square video or banner), specify the name, fill in the fields with text and leave a call to action. Upload the campaign logo and creo.
As for placement, in Likee, ads will pop up in the video feed, as well as at the beginning and end of the videos themselves. And in Imo.im, ads will be displayed among the chat list, when viewing stories, and after the end of the call.
You can create ads immediately after registration, but it will not start showing until the account and the ad itself pass verification. In our case, it took one day.
Don't forget to comment if you are intersted in the case study with numbers. I can also write a pape about traffic on Bigo live with analysis that i have done. I also have knowldge about pseudo-free traffic on Bigo Live. Will gladly share all information if it is interesting.

I'm making an exception to forum rules by moving this to the Affiliate Marketing forum - this is way too good to be buried in the vendors section!
Thank you @mindflovv for this very valuable share!

Bigo ads real case study 81% ROI
Hello! Vladimir is back in touch. I have seen a lot of interest from the community and hence I’m back with a case that can inspire you. Part of our team has been working with applications on Bigo for more than two months and they are enjoying their life. Today i will share with you a new source of traffic - Bigo, tell you how it performs and why we decided to test it.
The source was not chosen randomly. In our reality where everybody is tired of bans and disapproval, Bigo is a breath of fresh air. There are no bans or disallowances (unless it’s outright adult or forbidden topics, like casinos and betting).Everything else goes through, as they say, “their manual moderation” and gives traffic (we’ll talk about traffic and ways to get it a little later).
Statistics:
Applications: Qibla Finder 2.0, Locator Qibla Pray
Dates: 16.09.21-28.09.21
Source: Bigo Ads
Network: Applink
Income: $8,018.75
Spend: $4,417
Profit: $3,601.75
ROI: 81.5%

For the test, I took a Muslim application with a compass and a timetable for prayers. Applink.network provided this app. Why did I choose this application? All men pray several times a day, this is the ideal target audience. We took 3 GEOs for the test: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Bahrain. There was also a small test for the UAE.
The first launches were rather incomprehensible. We used about 10 different creos and launched 1 campaign, 1 adset, 1 creo optimised for instals. Each campaign was allocated $20. We also bet $20 on the adset, targeting only men. By the way, it's worth mentioning that tests on women did not give any result.
In principle, from the very first day, it could be seen which creatives were working. I scaled in the same way as I do on the other platforms. What I did was: duplicated 5 adsets in the campaign, created 5 more campaigns with 2-3 adsets and started increasing the budget.
I will add some creative examples so that you will have something to start with.

The nuances of working with the budget and traffic in Bigo Ads
I would like to dwell on the budget in more detail and discuss the following point: Bigo has very strange optimization and it is not clear how it gives traffic to adsets. The only thing I noticed is that if the creative is working, then there will always be traffic, but not always with the amount that you request. What it means is, you can put $1000 on a campaign that will have 10 ad sets - $100 each, and Bigo will give traffic for $100 on one ad set, $70 on another ad set, etc.
The creative was so hot that it spent 70-80% of the budget every day. I increased ad sets from $50 to $250 and the spend continued WITHOUT a decrease in ROI (oddly enough). In addition, we did a lot of duplicates of adsets. We tested the optimization for events - no difference from the install was noticed. Within a week, the amount of traffic started to decrease, it was clear that the creatives were burning out, and we began to raise budgets to $1-2k a day, but it was only spending around 10% of the daily budget.
I was able to find a solution — the most optimal budget for the adset is $30. With such a budget, Bigo for some reason always gives traffic > 50% daily. ROI began to fall, but I still managed to get traffic. I tested new creatives, but was unable to find a hot one once again.
Bids are also a separate conversation. The first launches were to Saudi Arabia with a bid of $0.13 and there was a ton of traffic. In the end I raised the bids and by the end of the period, I was only able to get traffic with the bid being $0.17 - once again, if one manages to get the hot creative - Bigo gives a lot of traffic even on minimal bids. Below is a list of average bids on which it was possible to launch:
- Kuwait — $0.2
- Saudi Arabia - $0.15
- UAE — $0.19
- Bahrain — $0.17
GEO reports:
Saudi Arabia - $3124.49 Spend:

Income - $4870:

Kuwait - $584.78

Income - $896:

Bahrain - $272.19:

Income - $483:

In the bottom line, we have: the source is working, there are ways to scale it for initial launches and they are also clear and transparent. It’s up to you to start and dig, success!
I truly hope this case study will be useful for the community and bring more people to use this network. Thank you Applink.network for providing the agency cabinets. I will soon be back with a guide fo Bigo Live.

This is exactly the content type I like to see networks posting! Great idea to give it more exposure Amy.
I had no idea Bigo Ads even existed, looks like an interesting opportunity.
