Duplicating Camps on Taboola

Hey ya'll

In regards to duplicating campaigns on Taboola, (it has been said that) if you don't make changes to your ads and launch the camp as Optimized the second campaign will start competing with the first one immediately because of the Algorithm.

@platinum said that small changes to the creatives are enough.
Can we still click on the duplicate campaign button and then change the ads? What exactly do we need to change: Image, Headline, Tracker link?

And did you Taboola guys found it most of the time to be working to duplicate campaigns from Mobile to Desktop? Are the good&bad sites still the same (&And are their bidding % from the base bid similar)? How much % of the base bid do you have higher for desktop?

Really interested to hear about that!
To help us all scale to the moon!

I duplicate camps on Taboola for a different reason

If you don't change anything with the creatives or targeting when duplicating, they are automatically approved, meaning they don't have to go through moderation again. Very useful.

Then you can mess around with changing targeting to desktop or mobile, bid and budget changes after it's been duplicated.

All site bids and blocks are copied exactly.

As for going from mobile bid to desktop... no idea. I usually go the other way. Start with Desktop at stupid high bids and then attempt to go to mobile and get destroyed. Can't help much there.

I will say that, depending on the offer/geo/whatever doing a combined camp of mobile and desktop all devices, can get you some cheap Desktop clicks... but also can result in some expensive af mobile clicks. But smartbid can supposedly average it out if you have the patience and money to burn. That's how @jack_l does it iirc.

Got you The main point of duplicating here is to scale volumes horizontally, because especially running a genre like search arbitrage your max volumes per campaign are not always big, even if it's Taboola
