Click Loss In Pop
I launched a popunder campaign for the first time in PropellerAds. My tracker recorded 7800 clicks, but in PropellerAds, impressions are about 10500. So, I have about 26% click loss. Is this normal for popunder traffic?
- Tracker: CPVLab
- Server: DigitalOcean (New York)
- Target Country: Philippines
Thanks

Yes that is in the normal range.
Let it run for a few days so you get better idea about average clickloss. Probably you will see slightly lower numbers.
20% clickloss for pops in general is totally fine. There are geos and traffic sources where you will see much higher traffic losses.
Sometimes it is just a few zones that are totally off, other times it is the whole package.
I don't know CPVLab but some trackers have option to set traffic loss for each traffic source as global variable. I usually go with 20% and check every once in a while.

Yup, 20% with POPs is pretty normal, I have seen as much as 50% in some Asian or African GEOs.

Ok, I'll let it run more.

That's good to know. I'll go into details later.
Thank you all 👍

Yup, definitely do a deeper analysis. Very often, there are some bot zones or placements that completely mess up the whole campaign. And these tend to be quite large zones too that can eat up the whole budget when not blocked.
Look for signs like very high or extremely low CTRs, very high or very low clickloss etc... good thing is that these are often easy to spot because they stand out from the rest.

This could also be a reason for higher clickloss when the server location is too far away from the target geo.
Do you use a CDN?
If not do it, this can also help alot to speed up the LP loading times.
As a rough rule you can keep in mind that
- Low tier geos mostly have higher clickloss than high tier geos
- Mobile often has higher clickloss than desktop traffic
- 3G traffic often has higher clickloss than WiFi traffic
When you run 3G traffic in a low tier geo then the clicloss
can be as high as 35%-40%.

Totally missed this part damn

This can be a problem indeed... NewYork is quite far from the Phillipines and it can definitely have negative effect on the loading speeds and increase the click loss. granted, it's not always the case, I've been running tons of clicks from Indian on US based servers without a CDN and didn't really have any problems. But it is worth a test for sure, in some GEOs it definitely can help.
