Hey guys,
So I started TikTok ads yesterday after struggling with the tracking setup (though I was unsuccessful). I used pixel at the end to track the conversions. I have 1 campaign > 1 ad group > 2 ads
Offer: Auto Insurance offer, payout $6.75 - $9.75 varies by the state where the leads came from. Pixel fires on 13th page. Had Submit Form event.
Lander: I am using a prelander so that I can install pixel code there as the adv didnt allow to enter pixel code on the offer page. The pre-lander is quite simple which has a direct CTA to the offer page.
Creatives: Using 2 creatives which I had spied and it has simple comparison between the $$ they used to spend and after getting the quote they are spending.
Targeting: US, Interests: Auto services and auto insurance quotes, 35+ M/F, Behavior: Watched till end videos. Budget: $20/daily. Dayparting: 9 am to 6 pm. All placements.
Got so much high CPM on the very first day. I dont know is it normal or what but I read in one thread of @ScottyG that TikTok punishes on using the creatives of others. So maybe this could be the issue however now I'll be working on creating my own videos by taking the inspiration from the most worked videos. I am attaching the screenshots of my 1st day campaign, please give me your suggestions to improve where I am lacking.

Best of luck!
Don't steal creatives, you'll receive horrific CPMs and possible account suspensions if you do it enough.
Edit: One of those ads is my friend and he will sue you by the way, don't post you're stealing TT creatives here mate.
I have one question that usually I have read in most threads that you should test a creative till it spends 3 times of the offer payout so what if it spends the same budget in a single day? Should I judge it the same day or should I let it run for few more days?

Have stopped one creative that was not spending much and CTR was worst
I am working on it Scott.
You don´t need the pixel on the offer page/confirmation page for tracking.
Zeno posted a tutorial how to send conversions through the TikTok API HERE
Then you just create a postback for TikTok in your tracker and send __CLICKID__, pixel ID and event through the postback to TikTok.
Your payout is very low on the offer so it will be hard to compete with the dude whos ad you stole, which is me by the way :-)
Id imagine I am the most copied person on TT. Its not flattering its annoying but thankfully I have developed a lucrative system to profit off the theft of my content.
I have a page I can just drop Pixels in and then view the page. No need for ClickIDs. That is usually sufficient to be able to run a campaign using the pixel after a brief delay.
So yes, it does appear there is a glitch somewhere. I created a pixel earlier today, fired the test events on my test page and it still does not show up in the list of pixels I can use.
Hi @isha_18 it was a pleasure meeting you in person in Dubai!
Any updates on your camps? Did you manage to create some new custom creatives?
Amy

Hey guys,
So I am resuming this FA as I have started few tests with TikTok. I have finally chose my vertical and made some creatives by my own and few outsourced! Though I just started my first campaign to test the tracker setup, but got 3 conversions within those 5 minutes (I dont know whether this was random or it is something that is actually working!). Then the advertisers told me to stop as they were not able to track few parameters and I just set that up today so I am resuming that campaign too. Also got 2nd offer and ran that for a day, which I thought to change the creatives as they were bit old (this may sound silly) but now I have prepared few new creatives to start testing. Will start the camps at 9 am today with fresh creatives!
Vertical: Finance CPL (Debt relief)
1st offer payout: $18 (Short Form Submit & working with direct advertisers)
2nd offer payout: $22.5 (Long form submit)
Budget: $100 - $150 daily CBO
Optimization Goal: Submit Form
Structure: Campaign > 3 ad groups > 3 ads
ACO
Had 1 broad targeting, interest based, age based. Also I am using TikTok agency accounts which I got from the official TikTok partners, met them at AW Dubai and they don't charge anything on the same. I started one offer yesterday but that got disapproved because of the url, I am not sure why this happened though I am trying to fix that.
This is the 2nd offer's stats which I ran for a day:

I think interest based is working for me though the costs are less in broad targeting but anyways cant say anything right now as this is not tested much.
Edit: Just resolved that URL issue and my ad got approved! This one is the offer from direct adv which I just tested for 5 minutes:
Day-2
The results are here:
Got 0 conversions on both the offers. Also the ad got rejected again due to the URL issue, I need to use the tip from Scott which he gave in his post. Hope that works
!!
Loan offer:

Debt relief offer:

I just stopped the ad group age 45+ in both the campaigns because TikTok was not spending much on it so stats were costly and clicks were less as compared to other ad groups. Also will be pausing the creatives on which TikTok will not be spending much. Okay, that's it nothing more to speak.
I haven't posted since couple of days because my camps were paused due to insufficient balance as my agency accounts owners were not responding and my payments were stuck. So finally resolved that one and started the campaign yesterday and finally got 3 conversions on debt relief offer. I am not sure why it is not been displayed in TikTok's dashboard as well as on the tracker! I again got my every ad groups rejected though I applied "&version=43856" suggested by Scott. Then I appealed to look into it but only for one ad group it was approved and others got disapproved. After I tried creating the same ad groups again and deleting the old one for quite 2-3 times then it finally got approved (This was silly!). My advertiser wanted to see if the creative ID was tracked so he told me to pause after 1 conv so after getting 3 I paused the ads. But this time it was 76% ROI with a low spend and profit but it was!
Though it was just for testing but I wanted to make sure to put the regular updates on my FA, so that the experts can show me my mistakes and I can improve that.
So I have stopped running loan offer because it gave me -86% ROI and I spent almost 3 times of the payout but there was just a single conversion. Now I am looking more for debt relief offers. I asked the advertiser about the overall CR of the offer which was around 10% - 16% so I think this is definitely a nice offer to go with and if I am not getting closer to this CR then there is something where I am lacking and not the offer, because if others are getting this CR then I should be somewhere near to that, so yeah m trying on this offer to get greens.
Here are the stats of the recent run:

Also I changed the structure of the campaign a bit (CBO is still on), I saw that one creative which was a pure UGC converted well so I scaled up that particular one and got 3 headlines which resulted few conversions so I am scaling that too with the same creative. I have created 7 ad groups under a campaign and 4 texts variation under each, so basically there are 28 ads. I will be again resuming this ads tomorrow because the adv has set few day limits for the new publishers.
Great to hear you're making progress @isha_18!

Thanks @vortex.
So yesterday was again in red. I tested various age groups, broad targeting and interest based targeting and also 5-6 headlines with the one creative which performed well. By that I got to know that what is converting for me, broad targeting, 18-24, 25- 34 age groups got me conversions, also got to know the best two headlines. Got 3 conversions yesterday too, I don't know what's wrong I am getting stuck at 3 only!!!
Now my plan is to move forward with more creative testing and scaling the one creative that is working for me (until it dies). I have prepared almost 3 more creatives, complete UGC style because that what converted the most for me. I had also tried a weird video which was totally insane, in that two people were wearing horse masks and doing crazy stuff but that didn't gave me satisfying result. So will be testing new three creatives with the same offer and structure.
Am planning to test iOS vs android and gender too to see stats in detail. Also want to test the hashtags because at every resource it is telling that it is giving the results. I will resume the campaigns on Sunday because this is the rule for new pubs like me!! Will run straight till Wednesday and then advertiser will allow me to run throughout the week.
The results of yesterday's test!

Have paused the ad groups which didnt resulted in the conversions. I am not sure why the conversions are not being displayed still in the dashboard and on my Tracker! Waiting for the suggestions of TikTok legends.
PS: The interesting part is I have never even saw how TikTok looks and have not even used it once and here I am working on it. I should actually name this FA as Mysterious Journey on TikTok, haha! Though I am facing bit issues in knowing the trends going on but finding some resource for the same!
Alright, again back to it!
I started my campaign yesterday, but this time with different strategy. I tried using manual bidding instead of lowest cap because my CPMs and CPCs were insanely high and that you can see in my above stats.
As per my stats till now I can see that this following targeting worked for me:
Broad
18 -24 age group
25 - 35 age group
So this campaign was non-cbo, with 3 ad groups of the above targeting, 5 ads in each with ACO and to test the manual bid I set 20 eur/day budget. And the results were great, my CPM and CPC were so low. I have a question that whether dayparting works best or scheduling it for the whole day works?
This campaign's performance was quite nice so furthermore I'll be scaling this at a slow pace because I dont want to spoil the performance by speeding up the things. I got 4 conversions yesterday and ROI was approx 33%.
PS: I am still trying to solve the tracking issue and Zeno is supporting me with the same!

wow those are good CPM numbers. What do you mean with "manual bidding"? Cost Cap? Or I don't have the manual bidding option. Great success!
Congratulations on the green!!
It's really nice how you got the cost down using manual bidding - I'm curious to see what effects it would have on traffic volumes when you try to scale later.
Please continue to keep us posted! Thanks so much!

Curious what you did with the cost cap. Whenever I use that option I get like 2 impressions. There’s literally no traffic. What are you setting the conversion ‘bid’ to?
I’ve thought about setting it unusually high just to see if it finally gives traffic, but just went back to CBO as I’m impatient

It's been long since I posted about my updates, I was quite busy in setting up the tracking issues and also figuring out the horrible algo. Though faced many issues and did silliest mistakes ever!! But anyways got learnings from it.
So let's start:
My current offer is going well which is debt and is profitable to me. Though tryna get put off the loss that I built from TikTok. I am still going with cost cap as that seems doing well for me. I have parallelly started another debt relief offer which is from a well known company of US so I am not sure that will this convert or not because there are two aspects to look on this:
1). If this is a well known company then people will trust it and will enroll in it.
2). If this is a well known company then people must be with it and will click the ad and be like oh I know this and will bounce. (Currently I am at this situation, I am getting clicks but no conv)
So yeah I am quite not sure whether to continue to or what but I am testing. Next offer is of auto insurance which is SOI, I know this is saturated but I wanted to try it. It's payout is $1.6 quite low but okay let's test as it's CR is 13%. For this offer I am using lowest cost because it was not spending with cost cap.
Learnings:
Lowest cost: It is good to go with it when with cost cap the ads are not spending, because with manual bid it may blow your money or will be profitable so probability is 50% to be in green or red. For me personally, it was horribly red.
Cost cap: This is basically what you are willing to pay for a conv, the issue here is it will not spend sometimes so you have to switch to lowest cost in that case. Though this one is profitable for me.
Be patient and go slow while seeing a working campaign!
My ads were getting disapproved as I am promoting debt relief offer so that was frustrating and my limit of appeals were also finished so I was crazy and just tried again to submit appeal but no then I just wrote some random shit like "iuoheads" I mean type anything and surprise that was approved, I tried this for my every ad-group and this worked initially haha!
Finally I have figured out the issues with tracking and the conversions are being tracked on TikTok. I am currently scaling the creative which proved best and also testing more creatives since last 3 days but they haven't got any conversions yet so lets figure out what to do with it.
Silliest mistake I ever done was, I was scaling my creative by creating new ad groups and they were getting disapproved again and again so I went crazy making it again and again and getting disapproved so I was deleting the ad groups which were disapproved and by mistakenly my profitable ad group was selected among with that all and I accidentally deleted that too, that few minutes were horrible for me, I was literally able to count my heartbeats for minutes. As I am running debt relief offer which is basically not appropriate with TT's policy I really need to secure the one that barely gets approved!!
So yeah back with my questions again: How often should we increase the budget and the bid? And if after 2-3 days then why? Also should we make change in the existing ad-group or duplicate it and increase the budget?
Yesterday I scaled up the working ad-group twice in a day and also the bid so yesterday was not at all good for me because I didnt got a single conversion and yesterday was totally a red day!! Also if any one can suggest me any policy compliant vertical working on TikTok then I am open to test everything.
Also I wanna understand the whole working procedure of bidding that how it works and how we can utilize it fully! So if there are any posts then please share me because I dont wanna bid blindly without understanding it properly
(Not attaching any screenshots of my campaigns because that is a complete mess now!)
