Tablet Traffic: How Does It Perform For You?

What is your experience with tablet traffic?

Nevermind the fact that it's somewhat limited, I have found it to convert at a lower rate than desktop or mobile. Which surprised me, since I would assume the average income of a tablet owner is higher (since it's somewhat of a luxury item)

Good question.

To be honest, I never checked my stats for tablet performance.

I never target tablets specifically in my campaigns but mostly I also don't exclude them when the offer allows tablet traffic because volume is mostly very low anyway.

Curious to see what kind of experience others have with it.

As far as I remember there were German clickflow offers on brokerbabe few years ago that only accepted Vodafone tablet traffic for only very few hours each day.

Tablet traffic sits somewhere between mobile and desktop for me, but it's quite a but different from one case to the next.

Please note that this relates to dating campaigns, that's where I have the most data available.

I'm using desktop landing pages for tablets, because of the screen size.

The result are largely dependent on how the traffic source and affiliate networks look at this traffic.

Some networks put tablet in the mobile category, on some networks it's mixed with both desktop and mobile traffic, which has an impact on how effective I'm able to bid.

Same for the offers or affiliate networks. Some "desktop" offers accept tablet traffic, some redirect it to mobile offers. Now, dating offers usually pay less for mobile leads, so with these offers tablet traffic isn't performing that well.

I see the best result with offers that pay desktop rates for tablet traffic, because tablet clicks are often available at lower rates compared to desktop.

In the end it depends on how large the % of tablet clicks is, sometimes I don't even pay attention to these since it's just a bunch of clicks, sometimes it makes sense to focus on this traffic more.

I only have tablet experience with using G Ads and I can say it performs worse than desktop or mobile.
Not really sure what's the cause for this, but been always like this.
For many campaigns I lower my bid for this device

The share of tablet also has been the same over the years (7-10%).

It´s really that much?

I would expect less %.

Hmm, perhaps I should have mentioned those G ads campaigns are more corporate (basic online marketing) stuff related, not really affiliate.
(leads for constructors, insurance, healthcare, jobs, ... ).

Also: a tablet is one of the favorite ways to keep a child busy, so they stay popular
Really annoying for targeting of course (G Ads is not that good at age targeting).

I see even more on some sources... but usually it's lower for sure. And it definitely has to do with the targeting and how the source qualifies these clicks.
