VoluumDSP + Adplexity: Recipe for? (6)

VoluumDSP + Adplexity

Hi STMers. I am badly failing in Native ads so far. I am running multiple offers on VoluumDSP and I am using Native Adplexity for the research.

VoluumDSP Challenges:

Adplexity Challenges:

I am not sure if this is the correct way -

Strategy 1:
On Adplexity, I saw one ecom offer running for a 5-6 months nonstop on MGID. I replicated the campaign with some changes but it didn't fly.

Results: Fail (I am just receiving clicks)

Strategy 2:
I saw one offer killing on Outbrain exchange. I made a whitelist of websites for this offer from Adplexity. I added the websites which were running for the longest period of time and getting highest traffic.

I am bidding $18 for CPV and hardly getting clicks. It is too expensive. (GEO is Australia).

Results: Fail (Hardly getting clicks)

I am not sure how I should move forward.

Can anyone please share what is the best strategy to start with Native advertising? I was thinking maybe I don't have the best combination of tools.

I wouldn't recommend VoluumDSP at all. When I tried it, the traffic quality was always vastly worse than running direct with the networks, and in some cases the traffic was outright junk and filled with bots. I don't think I'm alone in having this opinion, as several others have had similar experiences. Just run directly with the native networks.

I would agree with @bc_red. I found running traffic on Voluum DSP to be vastly different than running direct. Please remember, Voluum is basically getting the traffic that the network couldn't sell directly. They may have some deals to get better quality because of their volume, but it is unlikely they will get access to all the best traffic. Finally, larger advertisers may work out a direct deal with a site, so you may think it is coming from Outbrain or the Voluum DSP, but it could be direct placements.

Second, straight rip and run is always going to leave you with the dregs if you go straight up against a successful advertiser. They have figured out exactly what they can bid, they have achieved their quality score to get traffic, and they are finding new stuff before you.

Finally, spy tools lie. Not intentionally, but they still lie. They can only show you what they find. So they can easily leave you with the impression that something is doing better or worse than it actually is.

If you want to rip and run, you need to find the spots others aren't buying, be willing to run on lower margins or both.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I feel the samething that traffic quality that I am receiving is very low quality. I will try running direct with the networks. Thanks.

Thank you so much for the advice. I will definitely sign up with Outbrain and Taboola for direct traffic as VoluumDSP doesn't cut the mustard.

Regarding rip and run, I totally agree with you. Btw I am running new creatives and landers.

And spy tools are really disappointing. I am not sure how to ultilize them to the fullest. They are expensive too.

Also I want to add that I have seen some people running successful campaigns on VoluumDSP. (YouTuber Liam James running profitable Clickbank and MaxBounty Nutra offers with VoluumDSP - mostly on Revcontent). Maybe it is okay for people who want to run offers on Revcontent, MGID etc.

Just today I found blog of our few STMer Attila. I am going through his articles and videos. I will dig deeper and see what type of offers are profitable with VoluumDSP.
