What to do when BINOM server is moved to new location?
Just got a mail from Hetzner that my hardware server will be physically moved to a new location beginning of March.
The move comes with 8.5h downtime (they say in their mail).
Has anyone experience which such a scenario?
What can you recommend me to do?
So far my only idea is to put all campaigns on dayparting for a 10 hour window. So I have some buffer before and after.
Binom support told me to switch off mysql in time and things will restart automatically once server is power on again.
Nevertheless I am close to mild panic

The solution depends how much revenue / profit you are losing by having your server offline. The higher the amount, the more incentive you have to work on a solution that will reduce downtime. And the more you can pay to avoid downtime. You could go as far as no downtime, but it involves preparation and extra costs that may not be justified.

I don't mind the downtime that much. Not yet on a scale where I would go for a 2nd Binom license.
My concern was rather that something could go wrong when server is moved. And that of course would hurt a lot.

Depends on how capable the server admin whos gonna handle this will be. I have had such moves happen to me several times. In about 80% of cases everything resumed normally without any problems, the remaining 20% were more problematic as the admin "forgot" to activate something or has set some settings in a wrong way. In the end they were able to put everything back on track, but it required some back and forth with the support.
The most important part is to make sure the DB is ok, so definitely do some backups or hire someone to take care of this for you.
OH, just realized this might be a different situation... so they are moving the whole box to a new location, not doing a "reinstall" on a new box? If that's the case, that's a way less complicated procedure, since they basically just unplug and then plugin again at the new location, that's similar to a reboot or power outage (but planned). Do a backup, stop traffic before the move and you should be fine.
The cases that I had happen to me were complete data moves where they had to put all my stuff on a new machine, so that's something completely different.

Just a small update for anybody who might have a physical server move in the future....
The relocation worked very smooth. So now I know it is really nothing to worry about.
One affiliate network even sent me an alert that my postback (because of late conversion) did not send them reply code and thus should be checked.
Only small surprise was one traffic source that uses different time zones for day parting and the clock on their dash. There was no way of knowing this beforehand.
