Can you have a user open links externally?
Is it possible to take a user off of Facebook's in app browser either using some kind of setting or by having the user click on a new link that opens another tab in a traditional browser?

If I'm not wrong, this depends on the settings of a particular user, they need to set the FB app to open the links externally. The setting has been removed some time ago but now it's back.
More on that here: https://www.xda-developers.com/faceb...rnal-browsers/

Unfortunate but yeah that's the best I could find as well.

Yeah its possible, at least on Android. Google "intent android default browser". As said, only works on Android. It allows you to open another app with a piece of code. Including a default browser to open and browse to an url.

I was playing with Android Studio few weeks ago and found out how to open the traditional browser instead of the app.
If the question is still relevant I can try to find out how exactly I did it.

Do you want to do that from your landing page? Like with Javascript?

I guess he means getting the user from webview to a browser.

Yeah essentially. Though not automatically just an idea I had to want to test out a few things

.
Ideally it would be right off the bat into the browser but its not necessary.

Let me see if I can try what @
jasclick had mentioned. Also got some other stuff I need to get out of the way before jumping in to this anyways.
