Discussion: Audio on landing pages
In the new MRKTRS Newsletter there was an interesting article about audio in ads.
For example it says "that sound is crucial to the user experience. Marketers need to consider audio as an equally significant element as the visuals in their clips – if not more so."
Here is another quote from the article:
"TikTok states that 9 out of 10 users view sound as being vital to the TikTok experience. TikTok’s research has shown that brand linkage and recall increase by over 8x when distinctive brand sounds are leveraged in ads."
Adding audio to banners or push ads is not possible but of course it can be used on landing pages.
Probably the only sounds I ever used were tings or slot machine sounds for casino landers or warning sounds for AV landers.
Besides of that I always stayed away from sound because I felt it´s rather disturbing.
But nowadays with so much video content on social networks like Instagram and even more TikTok maybe the users are more used to such stuff so that it could also increase performance of landing pages.
Did anyone test or uses audio as a real marketing instrument and not only as a gimmick/effect on the landing pages?

I've tested some audio elements and sometimes it did work, for example some "alert" type of sound on LPs that I have sent popunder traffic to, that probably made the users search for the tab that launched the sound. But it was kind of a hit or miss situation, sometimes it helped, sometimes it actually hurt the conversion rates.
I have also made good sales with a livecam product that had a narrator talking about how to "hack" livecam platforms to get free credits... I think it was from @CrakRevenue ... that used to perform well.
But generally speaking, I didn't really experiment much with this. Might be worth a try

Oh yeah.
It's the lander that put us on the map some years ago
FreeCamsExposed.com (a landing page we built incorporating audio that promoted MyFreeCams.com).
Paid out millions
It's been modified a bit over the years, but still EXTREMELY effective.

Yep, that´s the kind of sounds that I also use(d).

I can imagine that such VSL style works good, we know it from Clickbank and it´s banking hard there for years.
Would be great to hear if other users made good experience with such videos for other verticals as well.
However, related to TikTok and audio I rather thought about stuff like music or so where the audio is not "
that" promotional instrument on the LP but more like a good support.
Let me compare it to cooking
Even when you bake a sweet cake you should always give a little pinch of salt to it so that you stimulate all taste buds for a better overall taste adventure.
For the landing pages it would mean that you still do the promotion through text and images but support it with some music or so in the background to stimulate more senses (hearing) for a more complete overall experience.

I didn't test it yet, since there wasn't a need for something like it, but it sounds interesting and something that really hides some potentials. I guess this activity requires some special attention and careful work, since adding media elements on the landing page could be a risky thing, as it could make some damages to user experience or even slow down the site, but if proceeded carefully I guess it can be beneficial and maybe even attract more engagement with users.

I am not really sure this reply adds anything valuable to the discussion. It is good to have you participating @
vortexalpha, but maybe you could reply to less threads and bring more value in each reply.
