Help With Uploading Google GCLID

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum but old to affiliate marketing. I mostly do Google ads, and recently the Google pixel started working only about 1/3 of the time. To fix this missing data I am trying to upload the GCLIDs. But I am having issues:

First: I get this upload error: A conversion action with this name doesn't exist in its associated account. (shouldn't be an issue, because I copied and pasted the conversion name)

So I tried to create a new conversion with the import pixel. But I get this error now: Encountered API errors in at least one RPC.

Google support is offline, so I thought I would try this forum.

Hey @fogginc! I can not help you that much, as we have not integrated the Google Ads Conversions API yet.

However, that is going to be our next step.

I was checking the documentation: https://developers.google.com/google...sions/overview but it's confusing to me.

For example, we integrated Facebook and TikTok Conversions API and the documentation was easy to understand.

Did you use the official Google documentation to integrate the Google Ads API or did you use an external resource?

That's the weird thing, it's not for the Google API, it's for the conversion pixel, all I am trying to do it create a new conversion pixel. I'll trying chatting with Google online today and let you know what they say.

I have received an update from our wider team and they find the case extremely rare (the previous case I found is not for Offline Conversion) wherein they have consulted this further to our Engineering team. Hence, we expect to provide you an update this coming Tuesday, January 11, 2022 before 3PM GMT+8.


Sadly speaking, we cannot create offline conversion import from clicks conversion action until this has been resolved. I appreciate your understanding. Let me know if you have other questions.

Turns out it was just a simple fix. I had a conversion event with the same name that had been deleted so I couldn't see it. Google is going to change that error message to be more clear. It's kinda cool I found a bug in Google!
