Hey guys,
I am running one offer in Thailand and finally I got positive ROI after so many failed campaigns and banned FB accounts and started scaling of the best campaign. But I am thinking to run other offer also parallelly with this one so I selected few offers from few geos and wanted to know that which geo has quality traffic (because I am bit confused to select geo and offer, though I've asked my AM) So the geos are: Czech Republic (which matuloo suggested me in my other post), Indonesia, Germany, Spain, Hungary. Being a newbie I have mostly selected 2nd tier geos so that it can keep up with my budget.
PS: If you have any other geo in your mind then you can surely suggest me!
Thailand has huge population so it can be a very profitable GEO, if you find the right offers for it. I used to do well there myself, running some PIN submit offers some time ago.
I'm not sure what kind of offer you run there, but when I had solid offers for TH, the advertiser usually had good ones for other Asian countries too... Philippines, Indonesia etc, try to ask if they target these GEOs too.
When selecting the GEOs, you need to keep 2 things in mind:
- as a newbie, you need to stay away from the most competitive GEOs, because more advanced players with bumped payouts are already operating there and its pointless to try and compete with them. This doesnt mean that these GEOs wouldn't work, but the big guys are pushing the traffic prices to heights you cannot afford at this point. The only way to succeed here is to either focus on traffic sources that are not so popular or widgets/zones/sites that are overlooked by these people. Alternatively, you could win with exceptional creatives and LPs, but that requires some experience.
- you need GEOs with a good selection of well converting offers. Some GEOs offer better monetization methods and that's why there are more offer available. For example, all the most developed countries have a lot of leadgen offers available, because the advertisers know these leads are valuable and can make money down the road. While in the less developed part of the world, advertisers try to monetize straight away, using some direct billing method such as PIN submits (carrier billing), premium lines, SMS...
To sum it up, you can target basically any GEO, as long as you can find good offers for it so you need to do some research and ask your AMs what are their strong markets. Focusing on TIER2 is a good idea, because the traffic is cheaper there as you mentioned yourself. But generally speaking, do not over-think the GEO selection, there is nothing like the BEST GEO to target. Some perform better than others, but it's always tied to what offers are available for a particular country.
Guys,
I am 99% sure to go with Thailand and found an offer too and spied many creatives to test on Facebook. So the next question that arise is whether should I test images creating different adsets for each one or should I use dynamic creative option? One of my friend told me that when he tested his creatives with dynamic creatives it didn't gave him good results because Facebook only spent his money one the creative which got few good results on first few couple of days and didn't allotted the budget to other creatives? I am not sure that does this happens? What should I go with and what would be more effective?
In my past campaign I did manual creative testing and it's not that I am not satisfied but then too I was thinking to try this too and after all it's all bout testing but though wanted to discuss this with you guys!
Your suggestions will be appreciated!!
Yeah stick to Thailand and milk it before it turns sour. Logically your best images on current audiences will work also best on broader audiences. Often images contain "certainties" (coloration, depth, movement etc) that triggers the minds, no matter what gender or interest someone has. They are proven to make the brain work.
Sometimes its hard to pinpoint why an image is so succesful. I tested aweful looking images which turn out to have the best CTR. So test anything that might be relevant or interesting at least.
Often, both ABO and CBO, Facebook tends to focus on the same images over and over again, even when you duplicate it to a seperate campaign. Is it because its best? Or does FB steer on this intentionally? I doubt the last option highly. When I deactivate the "best" image in an adset to force FB sending traffic to the ones that got ignored all the time, most of time it turns out these images have a low CTR and high cost. Duplicating your best campaigns several times can make a difference sometimes tho', but your audiene must be broad enough so it doesnt conflict eachother.
To tackle this problem and dont want to lean on one or two images who outperform all the time, these slight adjustments might help to exploit a certain images on different levels;
- give the image a new filter, like the ones instagram has
- adjust the coloration and emphasize certain parts (make red, even more red for example)
- add a border/layout - this often comes off a bit spammy so be careful
- add certain symbols/emoticons/shapes/funny things
Regarding dynamic or not, just test both static and dynamic and see how it works out. So many things have impact on performance in general, testing is so essential (and cliché).
Thanks Stickupkid for guiding. Again I have another question (I am literally having so many questions every day) that being a newbie should I use the ad copy which is already been best converting or should I make some effective one? And if the answer is to go with the best converting then should I choose the ads which were converted best a year ago? Because when I spy for the creatives of the offer which I will be running at that time I didn't got any best creatives converted recently but yeah I surely found some creatives which got 5k likes in just a day which ran back in 2018. So what should I exactly go with?
If you can give me some tips, how are you promoting in FB without the ban hit you? it is really a big struggle.
I love this
Thank you for the information.
