What works with Pop traffic?

Hi so I am very new to the Pop traffic world and I'm curious how people make it to profit with it. I know that its all about testing different offers to see what converts and I've heard that Sweeps does well on Pop and I think hat vertical would be interesting to dive into. For the people out there that are making money with Pops how did you first find your winning campaign? By this I mean how many different offers did you test before you found your "Winner", and how much money are you spending on average to test each offer. I've heard the test should be about 10x CPA, is this true? I also would like to know what your favorite network is for finding CPA offers, (MaxBounty, ClickDealer, etc). I hope all of this makes sense, I'm very new to this space so apologies if this is a bad question or didn't make sense.

Thanks
- Josh

Hey Josh.

For the people out there that are making money with Pops how did you first find your winning campaign? By this I mean how many different offers did you test before you found your "Winner"
I started running pops in beginning of 2017 and the first real winner was one of my very first campaigns.

I spotted a chance, tested and made about $100-$150 (can´t remember exact numbers) profit per day basically right away.
Even had to search the offer on other networks because I hit the daily cap from day 1

But I have to say that I already did affiliate marketing for about 12 years at that point so I already had some experience.

and how much money are you spending on average to test each offer. I've heard the test should be about 10x CPA, is this true?
It depends on the campaign, I don´t have a strict system for it, I rather work with dynamic rules that are mostly based on experience.

As a beginner I still recommend to use a fixed rule like

Number of landing pages x Number of offers x Average offer payout x 10 = Test budget

When you´re new to all this it can help alot to use a formula like the one above because that way you can build a repeatable system much easier and it´s also way less confusing when you don´t use unique approaches for each campaign.

Your first task should be to learn the process of creating and running campaigns ASAP so that you can work fast and effective.

I also would like to know what your favorite network is for finding CPA offers, (MaxBounty, ClickDealer, etc)
I don´t have that favorite network.

Yes, Clickdealer is great because it´s huge and has offers in many verticals.
Gotzha is also great, has good sweeps and I ran Norton there for some time with fantastic payouts.
Advidi also has great offers.
Haka is great for click2sms offers.
Traffic Company is great for IVR offers.

Apart from that I also run quite a few offers direct with the advertisers.

I hope all of this makes sense, I'm very new to this space so apologies if this is a bad question or didn't make sense.
No problem, when you have any more quesitons just ask

Pops = Sweeps. There's not much else you can run with pops to be honest. Especially if just starting out. Free phones or grocery store gift cards have the most board appeal.

Couldn't have said it better. I might drop Haka from the list, but I personally still run them, plus it's good training wheels with the flat payout before upgrading to Traffic Company.

A good progression is Haka click2sms -> Traffic Company IVR -> Clickdealer SOI -> Advidi SOI -> Gotzha SOI/CC subs

thanks @twinaxe

i liked the logic behind the formula
Number of landing pages x Number of offers x Average offer payout x 10 = Test budget

the discussion of what is a relevant test budget comes up too often with new affiliates and advertisers, still unfamiliar with Pushub traffic.
sometimes its challenging to convey to the buyer, that an incorrect (mostly too low, sometimes too high) test budget is throwing money out the window.

passed to our Dsp Team to use as reference of how Top successful affiliates see this

I can imagine that especially as a traffic provider you walk a thin line between recommending to don´t set the bidget too low and recommending low enough to don´t sound greedy.

I also always try to help beginners to keep the costs low but one thing they have to understand is that running on too low budget can sometimes be the same as just wasting money.

Great, sounds good

Hi!
According to our statistics, the best verticals for pops are:

1. Mobile content (PIN submit or Click2SMS/Click2Call).
2. Antiviruses, VPNs and cleaners (they work effectively with just the landing page).
3. Sweepstakes (GEOs: Latam and Africa).
4. Gambling & betting (there are many cold clients there that may convert by accident).
