Monetize Instagram acocunt
Hi All, i have a instagram account with 14K followers related to surf/foil content. I was wondering how i can monetize this account?
Are there sources/platforms available to become a specific instagram publisher? Thanks!

You could use a service like shoutcart.com although I am not sure how much you can earn there with 14k followers with such niche content.

It depends on the engagement level of your account... 5 percent is considered good. As you have more than 10k followers you can post a link your stories and collect leads, then make sales.

14k in a niched market should be more than enough to become a brand ambasador, for example. Have you tried reaching out to some major brands in the niche? I have a friend who is into photography, his insta account is around the same size of yours and recently, he was approached by Nikkon to become their brand ambasador. So now they are sponsoring him with some gear etc... Let me add that most of his followers are from our country which happens to be a small one in terms of inhabitants, so that's why even the "lower" following was enough for them to reach out. But I guess that with a more narrow niche such as yours, it might be sufficient too.
Another option is to get listed at some marketplace for influencers. You can start exploring this world here: https://peertopeermarketing.co/influencer-marketplaces/

Matuloo: thanks for the input. I can focus on this by contacting major surf brands. We also have an own shop that i can promote.
I will also dive into this: https://peertopeermarketing.co/influencer-marketplaces/ & shoutcart.com to see how this can add value.

The most valuable influencers don't operate on social media ONLY. Companies love when an influencer also has a web presence... so some website or a blog etc... Because when they buy some shoutout of any kind, insta story for example, it's gone after certain time. Regular post on social media get's pushed down quickly too, especially with influencers who post a lot.
But when an influencer also has a blog or something like that and post an article/posts over there as well... it stays online forever, SEs can pick it up later on which means continuous exposure for the advertiser. So a combination of some social network post and a real article on some web property is quite popular. Which means, in case you're just on insta for now, you should consider building your presence on other platforms too.

I have a website/shop already. Blog is something that I can add. Thanks for the extra input anyway!

I decided to create a platform instead of a shop. Adding content; tips and tricks, reviews, etc. On this way im able to engage visitors more and add ads. Also data can be collected and monetize it.

Yup, with an info platform with quality content, the options to build your audience are much wider than with a simple store. Keywords related to reviews, "how to", tips and tricks are very popular in every vertical and niche, so if you can rank for those, traffic won't be a problem.

We don't have that much SEO content here on the forum, since it's not the focus of most members, but there are quite a few who play with SEO-based projects, including myself
But anyways, for what its worth, let me share a few thoughts
Generally speaking, there are two types of SEO approaches.
1. Basically spamming google in order to rank fast, milk it while it lasts, then start again. In this case, people use mass linking from PBNs, hacked or open website features such as comments etc... low quality shit, but executed en masse
Low quality content, often just spun or auto translated etc... I dont think this is what you are after.
2. Quality content sites that people want to build and rank for the long term. I assume this is what you are aiming for. In this case, the steps are quite straightforward and simple.
- Quality content, updated on a regular basis
- Strong social media presence
- Quality contextual backlinks built slowly and more or less naturally
- Strong CWV (core web vitals) signals
- Solid on page SEO with proper link structure
- Proper KW research and realistic goals, don't aim for the most competitive KWs straight of the bat
- Sitemap that you submit to google
... there are a few more.
I'm building a project based on SEO right now and seeing some small success finally. I dont have much time for it so the progress is slower than it could be, but I have gained some experience already and happy to share if you have any specific questions.
