How to setup landing pages

Hi amazing people, I have a question.

I'd like to start to host the landing pages. Can I use the same process I use with my clients?

By a multi site hosting, maybe link it to a generic domain name, and host there the landing pages. Would this work?
Or I need yes or yes a server as Amazon or Vultr?

Thanks

Hey @martinbe,

I'm pretty sure you've gone through the following thread but I'm linking a couple of them anyways.

In practice you can host whatever kind of client website like you do with your landers. The most important part is whether the website is a static one (sites built on pure html/css/js) or sites that require server side processing (like Wordpress for instance).

For static sites you can confidently goo with Amazon S3 + CDN hosting, while on the other hand if the site requires server side processing you will need to use server based hosting like Vultr, Linode, DigitalOcean, etc.

It is also worth noting that Amazon S3 hosting is not completely free, it's just their first year free when you first sign up.

Last but not least, if you don't want to deal with the technical landing page hosting setup for yourself, including other technicalities used for lead collection, I'd invite you to check out Landerlab.io

When choosing the domain to link to the server, should it be a generic domain with no sense or should it be a vertical targeted domain? Let's say I'm still experimenting with verticals, what you suggest?

Second question: how much difference there is for a newbie in terms of result vs speed of the server when running offers? I feel like starting with a shared hosting now would be easier for me since i know how to build a web site on them from scratch with closed eyes (one problem less).

I’ve never seen the domain name to bring any difference to the results. However, keeping it close to the vertical you’re promoting is still better than going for totally random unrelated domains. At least you know what you’ve used the domain for

If you are looking to host landing pages to promote aff network offers go for hosting number one I mentioned above. I would absolutely avoid using a shared hosting for static landing pages.
