How to collect users for IOS calendar ads?

Hello,

Is there a service where we can do this? Or a programmer who can help?

Best regards,

Great question, I already wondered about it myself but never researched about it.

I hope someone can shed some light on it.

You mean calendar spam, right? It really boils down to gathering as many emails as you can (and as cheap as you can) and then creating events and inviting these emails to them. Numbers game. Targeting users is not an option since, again, it is numbers game: preying on users that didn't turn off calendar and gmail sync. The users that didn't turn this off don't exhibit any specific characteristics(thus you can't target them. Probably. Maybe someone else has a different experience ), so you just need big and cheap volume

Possible options for collecting emails for this case:

1. Pop traffic. Cheap and has a lot of volume. Use the most notorious lead magnet - sweepstakes. Would be an interesting idea to collect their email there, place BB redirect + push sub script and further redirect a user to a real iphone 13 offer. This is how you can get the cheapest emails possible with this funnel.

2. Buxes. Not sure about the volume, but could be an option, probably. seosprint, profitcentr, etc. Just create a dummy website, create a task and ask users to enter their email and confirm it. You could pay as low as $0.01 for an email. Or even lower

3. Preying on older demographic. I won't dive deep into it, but you know why these people could be good for any type of BS. You could read a report by Better Business Bureau on sweepstakes and lotteries Could be a possible strategy

I would probably stick to the first point as it makes sense it terms of volume and cost per opt-in. Then you just blast event invitations to these emails and hopefully there is a % of these emails that didn't turn off gmail and calendar sync, so the "calendar ad" push appears on their phone

@maestro I am not sure if that´s how the calendar ads work that @ahmetemre means.

You can read about these ads HERE

Seems you build a subscriber base like on push but I didn´t see scripts for it yet.

@maestro

I'm definitely talking about creating a database as seen in the link @twinaxe shared.

some traffic sources are starting to collect it.

i want to collect my own users and send messages to them through a system

@ahmetemre I just checked and on Pushflow you can collect your own calendar subs.

You can get $50 free from Pushflow when you follow this thread

yeah,

I tested it, unfortunately it doesn't work now.

I spoke to the support team and they confirmed it.

There was another similar service to Pushflow, I'll try to find it again.

I had a look at the tech implications. It looks like you need an app to be able to sync an external calendar on the device.
See the Event Kit framework that allows that: https://www.generacodice.com/en/arti...+EKCalendar%3F

Or a user access through a malware.

The other options is to generate, either on the fly and/or on server calendar files, ICS (Apple) or VCS files (Android), which contain list of appointments.
See ics.js for on the fly generation: https://github.com/nwcell/ics.js

Then have the user download them and hopefully accept to push them in his own phone. This is the tricky part. I don't have iPhone to test that.

It won't work exactly the same as Calendar Ads, which are subscription to a remote calendar that can be sync remotely. But you can push a serie of 20/30 alerts that will be your own, with your own messages and offers, so if you can get that done cheap enough for example through pop ads, it can be worth it.

Do you spend time in building your own push subscriber list? Or do you prefer to buy 100% of your traffic from 3rd party push ad networks?

I only buy traffic and send all push subs to Monetizer.

I tried build an own push base but results were not what I expected.

Then I calculated and realized that it would take a shitload of traffic and quite some time to build a real good multi geo subscriber base.

Nonetheless I think about giving it a new chance from time to time.

me too, i went thru the same thought cycle as you.
I tried->didn't find it profitable-> gave up-> still feel like trying(again)...everytime someone writes about it..lol

For me it was pretty depressing to see that my own collected subscribers had very low CTR although I expected a much better CTR compared to networks where thousands of affiliates spam the users to death with push notifications.

When I then imagine to collect 50k subscribers in a geo, send my notifications so that maybe 30k subscribers receive it and when I then have 0.1% creative CTR that´s whopping 30 clicks...

With better results I would probably have tried it harder but what I experienced it´s just not worth the time and effort.

because you need to remember one thing that, if you are collecting push subscibers from pop traffic(from traffic networks)...then before you 100s if not 1000s of people have done the same thing. And these 100s of people might have already sent 1000s of push messages to these subscribers that you recently added in your list. That's why CTR is soo low.

So, it's best to capture push subscribers from fresh places, or your own website.

Sure, can´t disagree.

But...

Even when that´s true the people still actively allowed to receive push notifications from me.

And I can´t imagine that my own collected subs are worse than subs from "Fake Player -> Click allow to watch" sites
