Pop for standard offers?

Hi folks, this is a little bit ot regarding affiliations but since I never used POP traffic in order to promote traditional offers, do you think it could work?

For traditional offers i mean: cooking course or even lean generation for the business of my clients as a gym can be or a plumber.
I was thinking that these pop networks have a very detailed targeting which in some way seems to be even more detailed that the Facebook ones.

Just for the sake of this example POPADS has different categories so could I just mix let'say:

And try to get the attention of somene who is in teens and loves the alternative medicine, in order to show him or her some holistic course?

Would that work or most of the POP ads are kinda in the "spammy" sector?😄

Forget about the category targeting, pops are pops and the categories won't make a difference.

It can work to promote traditional offers but there is a reason why specific offers and verticals are mostly promoted on pops - because they work better.

On pops it's best to run offers that potentionally attract a broad audience.

But it's not that much about the ad format itself, it's more about how the users get "acquired".

For many years my main traffic was CPV, there I promoted lots of traditional affiliate programs and many CPS offers.

Check my thread how I promoted tens of thousands of programs at once to get an idea

Anyway, just from the look CPV ads are almost the same as pops but the crucial difference to pops is how, or better said why the users see your ad.

On pops the code for the ad is on the website on the server and gets triggered when a user visits the website.

In CPV the user needs to have an adware installed on his own computer and the ads get triggered from the adware.

On pops you can only target the "technical" side of the user, on CPV you can target specific domains so that you can give the user exactly what he wants.

Similar ad format, completely different performance and offers that work there.

Long story short, better stick with offers that are a good match for the ad format and chances to succeed will increase

Thanks man. So the pop targeting is not really accurate correct?
Let's say I'm selling somthing regarding the alternative medicine, targeting

Will not give me any chance to get to those people?

What about my feeling regarding the "spammy-dodgy" kind of offers? I mean, who the hell is even clicking on those offers like "win an iphone 12?"
Are they by the way real offers? I mean, someone is really winning or thinking to win?

from my personal experience I cannot say i have tried to target specific, I know it works but i think maybe you should just try "health" as it will be more abroad and will bring more people to your offer. once you have more data you can optimize and then target more detailed under health to see if you can be more profitable.

general/health/alternative medicine

Well, the targeting could be correct when your pops are only shown on alternative medicine websites for example.

But how many websites would that be?

99% of pops come from filesharing, streaming, converters, tubes and so on.

What about my feeling regarding the "spammy-dodgy" kind of offers? I mean, who the hell is even clicking on those offers like "win an iphone 12?"
I don´t know who´s clicking on it but truth is that there are many people falling for these offers and with every new phone model it works again and again

Are they by the way real offers? I mean, someone is really winning or thinking to win?
To be honest, I don´t know if they are real or if the users can really win something.

Probably they can when they go through a long path of other offers to complete first.

Seriously, I never was interested to understand how or if the offers I promote work for the users or not.

The only thing that matters for me is if an offer is converting for me or not, everything else won´t make a different for me anyway because my path ends at conversion point.
