This pisses me off...

Just got an email out of the blue...

Hey,

I came across your XXX campaign and I wanted to see if we can get some other XXX deal campaigns set up. We're doing extremely well with our XXX (UK, IE) campaign right now, paying XXX per lead and generating a very profitable $5.27+ EPC for our publishers. Additionally, our XXX (UK, IE) offer is extremely hot right now. We have direct relationships with XXX, YYY, ZZZ and several other niche XXX sites.

In addition, we have an internal division of media buyers that are helping our affiliates to generate $5-50K/day, running across various self-serve display units.

Ping me and we'll chat further.

Cheers,

Profitkingsmedia.com

This is the third time I've been approached by this network. They obviously have a weird way of recruiting affiliates. It probably also explains why my campaign has been ripped off

I got a similar message today sent to an email account that I only used when signing up to EWA. Also, he hit me up via AIM, which I'm not sure how he got.

02-03-2012 03:00 AM #3 jleone (Member)

Yea I got a message from them a few weeks ago and today I just got another that came from a totally different niche and traffic source. So they basically want me to move my campaign over to them because their (same) offer is "extremely hot right now"... yeah ok.

They're looking everywhere for affiliates.

Today's email:

I came across your XXX campaign and I wanted to see if we can get some other XXX deal campaigns set up. We're doing extremely well with our XXX campaign right now, paying $44.75 per lead and generating a very profitable $4.75+ EPC for our publishers. Additionally, our XXX offer is extremely hot right now. We have direct relationships with BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, and several other niche BLAH sites.

In addition, we have an internal division of media buyers that are helping our affiliates to generate $5-50K/day, running across various self-serve display units.

Ping me and we'll chat further.

Cheers

02-03-2012 09:41 AM #9 rich (Member)

I got the email about my IMVU campaign they have come across and wanted to let me know they have it at a great payout... thing is I've never ran IMVU in my life so no idea where their getting the info from

I got a similar message today (very unprofessional if they try to get new affiliates that way). Funny thing is that my email adress isn't listed anywhere so i guess there is a leak anywhere. Not sure how he got it.

btw there are some funny stories on affpaying about Yousif/PKM. I'd stay away from them!!

I got an email from PKM saying Ryan (from EWA), which is "known to stiff affiliate's campaigns" as said in the email, has stolen/hacked Yousif's AIM... Which is true?

Joe

This is ridiculous that I'm somehow being pulled into this, and here are my two and only responses to this. I refuse to let this little kid get fame off my name:

It’s a very bizarre situation to say the least, the issue was elevated to me (along with the slanderous comments) and my legal has already contacted him requesting that it cease & desists. I’m quite honestly just trying to avoid all of this drama that people are stirring up as there are much bigger fish to fry.
Honestly, all these little companies try to grab the industries attention by slandering my name and they will not get the fame they are seeking. This is, by far, one of the strangest situations that I have ever seen in my working career online and even stranger another network would mail their publishers something like that.

lol. Just got an email from him as well (and he added me on skype). Was about to rant here and saw this thread. Thank god I don't have a Wickedfire account. would have been wasting my whole day there.

Just got this same email today, about 3 seconds after seeing this in my p202 spy view:

Spy View - Google Chrome_2012-02-06_18-04-30 by jmgraff, on Flickr

It was sent to the address listed under the whois for my tracking domian, i know this because i use whoisguard and the email headers show it was forwarded from them. So that's how they get your email

Just got the same email. The funny thing is they are asking about a campaign I stopped running like 3 weeks ago on POF.
Very annoying.

I was messaged by Yousif on an AIM account that I've used with only EWA and one other network. The campaign mentioned by Yousif when he IM'ed me is a campaign that I've only run with EWA.

I get the "I saw your XXX offer and want to tell you about ours" email every few weeks, and the funny thing is they have never actually named an offer that I actually run. They're obviously just throwing out hot verticals in the hopes that the people who get the email just happen to be running traffic to them.

You're not alone man, these vultures have been hitting up a ton of affiliates. Been hit up twice now by these in a matter of days.

02-26-2012 05:39 AM #40 kokofai ()

Guys don't be mad. They just want to get more business. I believe they somehow can get new affiliates (and possible future super affiliates) to work with them and train them to be loyal to the network.

However I doubt any current big affiliate will "buy" the way they invite them to send PKM businesses because after all, it's the relationship that the big affiliates have with their favorite networks that keep them from jumping to another network.

Now, instead of watching drama, get back to grinding!

This is nothing new guys - the lifeline of our business is our affiliates. One of the many things we do to recruit affiliates is find your media, look at your tracking domain, grab the WHOIS and contact you about said campaign to see if there's an opportunity to work together. In many cases it's a favor, we're offering to pay you more for the same traffic and help you scale using the current traffic source we found you on and help optimize largely. If you dislike being contacted, reply back and you won't get another email from us.

That can't be 100% true because I got an email about a campaign you found of mine and I'd never even ran before so wasn't sure how you got my details

We use a ton of analytics to determine what sort of verticals interest you (similar to said offer in email)

If you build a solid reputation you won't have to go and find affiliates. They will come to you. This sort of shit makes you look desperate.

No offence but how the hell did you come up to think i'd like the IMVU offer or whatever the offer was when for the last year or two I've been focussing on offers that couldn't have been more different.

I did hit you guys up ages ago about an offer you currently had which I did want to run and it took weeks to get any info about it so I went and got it elsewhere - maybe concentrate on the current affiliates you have instead of preaching for more.
