Good SEO theme

I want to launch a SEO project to see how far i can come in this source. I was wondering if somebody know a good theme that i can buy that requires all technical elements for SEO.

I found this one myself: https://themeforest.net/item/gillion...theme/19470306

Any better alternatives?

Probably it is better to go with a lightweight theme and use a SEO plugin.

Yoast is very popular (for several years) and easy to use. You can connect it with Google Search Console. It also will do the Sitemap-Updates automatically.

There are many other free plugins which basically do the same.

Lightweight themes have the advantage that they are less clumsy and load faster. Also when you want to be quick having to deal with all the design options of a fancy theme can be quite a struggle.

Am using Generate Press myself and am very happy with it but have to say that my content is 95% text.

I think @jeremie might be able to share some advice here

Generally speaking, WP is a CMS preferred by google and there are millions of sites running it and ranking fine. As long as you don't install too many plugins that slow the site down too much, you should be fine.

It also depends on your niche, google can understand what your site is about and rank it accordingly, when you use the proper schema markup / structured data. Read this for more info: https://moz.com/learn/seo/schema-structured-data

There are many niche/vertical specific themes and plugins that have this configured already so you should be choosing your theme with this in mind too.

One thing to keep in mind is site speed. A lot of these themes on Themeforest are bloated and take ages to load.

From doing my own research I found that Generatepress and Astra theme are two good themes both in terms of speed, SEO page layout and quality of coding.

I absolutely hate this part about launching a new niche site.

You can spend like 1.000 hours scrolling for a good theme and you never will find one that is 100% what you are looking for.
The last years there are also wordpress themes that have like 1.000 features and subthemes, all stuff you don't need for a basic seo site.

So also interested in a fast loading simple theme (especially on mobile!) that really has a SEO focus (and some good spots for ads ).
@affimediabv
If you find a good one, pleas do share

(ps: it would probably be a good business idea to develop a real simple WP-theme that is super fast without all the crap).

Have you guys tried some of the themes recommended in the many "top themes for SEO" blog posts?

Such as:

https://www.searchenginejournal.com/...or-seo/411058/
https://www.isitwp.com/best-seo-opti...emes-compared/
https://blog.hubspot.com/website/seo...rdpress-themes
https://athemes.com/collections/seo-...dpress-themes/

etc

Some themes tend to appear in all/most of these roundups, for example: Astra, Divi, Shema... there might be something to it, unless it's a high referral fee

And this article lists some of the fastest themes, with speed test results:

Find a theme that's listed as one of the fastest, that's ALSO recommended by SEO experts, and you're golden.

.
I don't use WP anymore on my new projects as I moved to Hugo. But last time I checked, GeneratePress was the best option for speed. As someone already mentioned, go for a light theme and a dedicated SEO plugin (most have free versions that are good enough)

@all thanks for the comments and replies. I understand speed is important and Yoast im already familiar with
I think I go for GeneratePress since most of the members here have good experience with it!
