Website conversion tracking
Hey guys,
First of all thank you all for being so helpful in this forum
Since I'm kind of starting my whole affiliate journey I still have many questions.
So I'm in the phase of setting my wordpress website and adding offers.
I assume the offers (the url's) will be generated through the affiliate networks and/or direct partnerships, which I'll be able to add them in various sections on my website.
My question is the following:
- Where do I track my website performance (conversions) without me actually going to each partner/affiliate network back-end? Is Voluum suitable for this?
- Can my devs do something about this?
AND
one sub-question
- Can I use wordpress to build and test landing pages? If so, what would you say is the best solution since not sure the devs will have the time to do so? Is Elementor suitable here?
Thank you loads

You can do with any tracker basically.
Setup is offer link --> tracker campaign link --> link on landing page --> calls tracker camp on click --> tracker connects to offer --> network reports conversion to tracker
Can I use wordpress to build and test landing pages
You can. But in terms of speed it makes no sense. Wordpress is slow like a snail. --> have a look into the 40 day tutorial where things are explained in more detail.

I guess it depends if there is organic traffic to monitor. In that case, trackers purely focused on affiliate campaigns are really not the best solution.
@
gpanda, how are you generating traffic. Through paid ads, seo, or both?

Commercial trackers and/or google analytics for tracking.
As @larsometer said above, wordpress is slow. If you must use wordpress, find some fast themes and test a few to find the fastest. Also use as few plugins as possible.
The theme and plugins make the most difference in speed based on my testing.
Using a caching plugin can also make a difference. Test a few to see what works best for you.

Hey Jeremie, I'm getting traffic from both. So ideally would be to measure SEO performance for 15+ offers in a single dashboard. The same goes to paid ads > 15+ offers.
Also not to forget, each country performance would matter a lot. So basically SEO_country would be ideal

Okay thanks for the feedback, which LP builder would you recommend?

Never have used one.
Easiest way (for quick start) is to use spytools and adjust the landers you find there for your purposes.
If you need something very specific you can ask here in the forum if there are any coders who can do the job for you.
Landerlab might be an option too (ask @
platinum).

Hi @gpanda,
To track your website you can use analytics, but to track all the offers from different affiliate networks would be better to use an ad tracker. This way you will get a lot of useful metrics to optimize your campaigns.
All the trackers now offer a free trial so you can try them out.
What I can say about CPV Lab Pro, is that it also comes with MV Lab (multivariate testing tool) that allows you to test different variations of your landing pages without actually having multiple landing pages.
It works like this: you create your variations in CPV Lab Pro (like buttons colors, images, different texts)-> you update your landing page and add some code into it (provided in CPV Lab) -> then you can use that landing page for your campaigns.
The texts/images/buttons will be replaced with the variations you defined.
So, by refreshing the same landing page you will actually get multiple landing page variations.
And the tracker will track these variations so you can see which one is the most profitable
Here are details on how to use it.
Cheers,
Julia

Tracking performances:
Not all trackers are suitable for SEO for several reasons:
1. They are not integrated with Google Analytics
- Which doesn't let you measure your SEO performances / ROI
- You can't build custom audiences in GA which would allow you to advertise on Google Ads
2. The tracking / setup flow is over complicated:
- you have to "hardcode" the tracker's call to action URLs on your website.
- you have to define each landing pages where you promote offers
- If today you have 10 offers, and tomorrow you want to add 5 extra offers - you need to reset the entire setup and redefine your landing pages, and number of call to actions / offers
3. If at some point you want to promote 200 offers - you'll find yourself with the impossibility to setup / manage / measure your campaign.
4. Trackers' call to action URLs can be blocked by ad blockers, safari, ITP / ETP since they are considered as CNAME Cloaking
So for tracking you need a fully redirectless tracking platform (check out AnyTrack - disclosure it's my company), which integrates with Google Analytics, and lets you track 1 or 2000 offers on your site, without changing any links or making any code updates. If you run on wordpress, you can even use plugins that automatically link your offers to specific keywords / or tags.
There was a thread comparing
Voluum / anytrack - you can check it out
here.
As for website builder:
- Wordpress is slow - but if you're into SEO, then it's a necessary evil which seems to be very suitable for most SEO companies. Elementor is great and lets you customize your site without any coding requirements.
- elementor has also a built in landing page builder.
- For caching - nitropack plugin is doing a fantastic job.
- For hosting - i'd recommend Kinsta - amazing service, cloudflare, and CDN.
Good luck!
