FB not recording all events?
Hey everyone! Couldn't find any thread about this, but the thing is only about half of my lead events are being recorded by FB.
This pixel is on the advertiser's end on a custom domain.
I'm thinking it's because of iOS users (I remember this used to happen before too)? Domains are verified besides the advertiser's domain. Would verifying it help?
This has happened to about all offers of diff networks I've run when using purchase/lead event. Not sure how people manage to optimize with it, or I'm doing some serious newbie mistake.
Any insight @vortex ?

1. All domains related to the event flow have to be verified, unless you use the fb conversion api (capi)
2. You should use the conversion API so that only the initial landing page (your domains need to be verified).
3. You need to configure the aggregated event measurement (
https://www.facebook.com/business/help/721422165168355) to help increase conversion attribution.
4. Your pixel should be configured with all matching parameters and first party data.
Clearly, users on safari, or iOS will not track since fb pixel is probably blocked natively on these devices.
In general it's
very bad practice to add your pixel on the advertiser thank you page since they might have other pixels on this page, which can attribute conversions to other ads, and also if one of the pixel is associated with an account that has been banned, they will link it to your fb ad account and might also ban yours.

Then what's a good way to track events on the advertiser's pages?

You have several options which all depend on the advertiser's tech stack.
What I'll describe below can be done with AnyTrack, and assuming you have connected your account with FB CAPI
Since the session starts on your website / landing page, anytrack will start tracking from the page view hit.
If advertiser can fire a postback / s2s / webhook
- Anytrack will ingest the conversion data, and then fire it to FB Capi
If advertiser can only place a JS tag on the thank you page:
- AnyTrack JS tag will load, capture the sales / conversion event, and pass the conversion data back to FB CAPI.
Optionally, but for more accurate attribution, can you send a "subid" param to your link (product /offer link)?
Are there any parameters that can be captured in the thank you page?
- Sales / commission value?
- Custom parameters?
- Product name?
Hope that helps.
ps: if there are details you rather not share publicly, you can PM me with details.

Also: The downloadable guide here should shed some light - https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...889ampamp65039
Another popular tool is Hyros (by Alex Becker), but the price point is on the high side.
Facebook hasn't been my focus in the last few months - I haven't got this completely figured out yet. Will write a guide on this when I do.

Note regarding Hyros:
They use the
offline conversion API, not the Conversion API.
Therefore they require personal data to be sent to FB to attribute the conversion.

Appreciate the clarification!
So where does this "personal data" need to come from? Customer data?

From you.
That’s why hyros is not suitable for affiliates.
And that’s also why I doubt the Facebook @Voluum integration works.

So basically the advertiser needs to upload customer data, or maybe feed it data from GA or something. We're actually testing out this tool - should have a much better understanding on how it works soon.

Facebook has many APIs.
The offline conversion api - which is to the one used by
Voluum,
RedTrack, hyros - which
REQUIRES personal data.
The Facebook conversion api - which anytrack uses, and
doesn't require personal data.
2. GA - No, that won't work since GA data is not recognized by FB.
3. Good luck with that - here is an
anytrack hyros comparison so you get a better idea of what you're heading to.

Agree about conversion API. It allows advertisers to send web events from their servers directly to Facebook. Server events are linked to a pixel and are processed like browser pixel events. This means that server events are used in measurement, reporting, and optimization in the same way as browser pixel events.

How's the testing going so far?

We do get more conversions attributed using Hyros.
Worth noting is that the additional conversions would only be worth the price if you're running at scale.
I watched a very useful webinar by Depesh Mandalia a couple of weeks ago, where he shared some techniques that can be implemented for free - here's the replay for your reference:
https://www1.bpmmethod.com/live-ios1...yq65fGLdufk%3D
The results from implementing those tips are comparable to those from Hyros.
So for those of us that are not running at scale (and even for those that are!), I would recommend to check out the video above. Improving one's tracking setup can only be beneficial - there's no such thing as doing too much as long as it's free and doesn't take much time to set up.
