Hi,
1. Which option would be better - 301 redirect from aged auction domain to a new brandable domain VS using an aged auction domain as a money site even though the name doesn't sound ideal?
I've been searching for aged domains and it's hard to find one that meets all key criteria.
2. seo.domains says "ccTLDs are much cheaper, cleaner and provide the same kind of authority." however a few business folks said that .com is valued highest when selling, at least .co or .net.
So I'm wondering if SEO - business masters here could advise which TLD is recommended considering both SEO and opportunities to sell the site down the line?
Thank you.
ccTLDs make sense if you have a local business targeting one country only. In this case, yes, they provide the same kind of authority (for SEO purpose), and allow to really tell google "i am local, i serve this country only". You have a higher chance to quickly rank first in that particular country.
For global, i would stick with .com / .co (or .io / .ai if it is a tech). But a .com domain usually retails for 10 times a .co / .io / .ai
Comercial site on a .net or .org does not make lot of sense.
Which geos are you targeting?
Wow, thank you so much for your insights and clarification @jeremie. That was super helpful.
Seems it'd make sense to mainly target US and then other English speaking countries and possibly expand from there.
Any suggestions on 301 redirect to a new brandable domain VS using an aged auction not-so-brandable domain as a money site?
