So, I'm heading to Sydney on Sunday and then up to a conference around Newcastle Mon-Friday, back to Sydney to fly home on Saturday. I will no doubt have net access at the conference but I need to get myself sorted with access while I'm in transit.
Can any of you Aussie's recommend the best way to get mobile access? I was going to get a mobile broadband stick but have no idea which carrier would be better. Otherwise finally getting a smartphone is a possibility, has anyone noticed their net being more reliable via smartphone c.f. the broadband sticks?
Go with Telstra - best coverage you'll find across the country.
this has been working very well for me

Don't go with Optus you will kill yourself.
Seriously, go with Telstra. They used to be super expensive and probably still are but at least it will work, which is basically the opposite of what you will get with any of the other providers.
Righto thanks guys n gals, will pick up a Telstra stick when I'm at the airport.
