Mastering Affiliate Marketing Using Facebook Paid Ads

There is two ways to frame a follow-along. – Also referred to in this thread as a journal.

Overstating or understating. I picked the latter.

Struggle is perhaps a strong word but I am nowhere near the goals I set to myself.

The journey began in late 2016.

After 2 years of dabbling in small caps trading and shorting pumps&dumps, I finally made the shift to internet marketing.

A friend of mine shows up at my house on a cold September afternoon (It's canada )..

He pulls up his phone and shows me a Shopify dashboard.

$800 in sales and it wasn't even 6pm.

I was sold.

As soon as he left, I pulled up my laptop, created a Shopify store and was on my way to launch my first ad.

Fast forward to December 3rd. I launch an ad for a handbag brand.

December 6th, I hear for the first time that "tcha-ching" sound that made me almost orgasm.

I contain myself. Go ahead and process that order.

And in the following days, that creative kept on giving.

For 4 months. I am making 20k in sales every month, keeping about half of it in profit.

When people asked what I do. I answered "soon to be billionaire".

The cockiness was at an all time high.

In my head, I started thinking about how I will be funding kids in Africa and saving elephants in Thailand

Until I got banned. And the music stopped.

I fell into a state of confusion that lasted for 4 years.

I did everything on the face of the earth.

Made a penny of every possible business model.

Ecom. Coaching. SMMA. Lead generation agency. Mobile Apps. Start-up game.

The illusion of movement made me think I was going forward when in fact, I was just circling around.

Spinning tires until I ran out of gas

Then without planning it much, I run by an old friend I haven't seen in a while.

"I just made a million dollars in sales last month bro", he casually tells me while we are waiting for our coffee at Starbucks.

I don't say a word. Listen. Then proceed to tell him where I am standing.

He says listen, I am doing this seminar and you should come. (for free)

I sit down at that conference room with couple students and for the first time, I see two guys talk about making numbers that were beyond the realm of what I conceived to be possible.

Millions of dollars of sales every year.

I am back into dropshipping.

I struggled for 3 months then finally find a way to make it happen.

I open a store in France (I speak French, Spanish and arabic) and in the following 5 months (Right when Covid hit), I made around 700k in sales within that period.

I keep about 100k in my pocket.

Facebook bans me again. I spend 5 months lost in the abyss.

Then a friend of mine I met on another forum, started telling me about Affiliate, STM and whatnot.

He is a master sweeps guy and always made fun of my 14-18% ROI on ecom. (BH guys ugh )

He became a mentor to me and taught me this game from A to Z.

I had a very bad period between December and March, completely lost, beating myself down...

I got out of that.

I fixed couple things about my personal life: Refrain from constantly chasing women, got rid of social media, re-read my personal journal of the past 10 years, focused on the essentials and got rid of the noise, increased my focus.

I got into leadgen.

I met another guy on Telegram who told me about some offers in Europe.

I picked France again to start.

I didn't succeed right away until last march.

We finally got access to strong agency accounts thanks to another guy I met in a telegram group.

I started running leadgen in Europe and we have been doing very good.

I made about 150-200k profit (I have yet to double check) within the last 4 months. Almost double what I made in almost a year running dropshipping.

And then just fell in love with affiliate. The opportunities are endless.

I found out more and more about my character.

I found out more about my strengths.

I realized that focus is the most important thing.

One traffic source. One vertical.

Master it and then move on to the next.

I also made a big epiphany: It's all about connections.

The major turning points of my life, were traced back to one single encounter.

Everybody knows it. But nobody seems to do anything about it.

Good connections are not something that "just happens". It could be scaled, the same way we scale a campaign.

And it starts with exposure.

Here is a crazy story.

Back in April, a friend of mine from my home country calls me to say that I should put $1000 in this thing called NBA Topshot (He was an insider dev coming from the Crypto Kitties project – Dapper labs built both NBA Topshot and CK)

I don't listen to him.

Couple months earlier, the NFT hype hits and his portfolio climbs to 8 millions dollars. He converted around 500k to pure cash dollars $$$

Meeting this guy was random. The impact would have been huge if I have listened.

I don't want that to be random anymore.

I want making meeting people my priority. It's what I am the most good at. (I come from the PUA community – I had a journal like this on a famous forum and it helped me tremendously go from a not so confident shy kid, to someone with a good presence and an ability to make good friends)

Currently:

I am very open to meeting likeminded individuals, feel free to reach out anytime.

I am the type who gives everything right away because that's the only thing I found to be efficient to build trust with people.

I believe strongly in the power of communities and power of trade. When selfish interests align and people help each other out, it's scientifically proven that both prosper.

Hey bro,

Thanks for reading. I am glad it's inspiring you

I did dropshipping for a while too and if you have experience in email and ecom, you will do just great in AM, because it's essentially the same thing, it just gives you the opportunity to focus more on what you do best, which is essentially creatives and emails.

Do not hesitate if you have any question, feel free to reach out

Currently:

  • I am partnering up with a very smart friend to whom I give cashflow and he runs the Ecom vertical.
  • I run the leadgen vertical, by hiring a team of graphic designer to make 10 creatives per day for every offer.
  • I want to get into NUTRA (By capturing emails and sending long sequences – I believe I can be a good copywriter)

Thank you for your lovely messages.

July 20th
Playa Del Carmen
8:03 am

I woke up early but remain in bed. Pull up my laptop to look at my campaigns.

I am amazed every time when I think of the amounts we spend daily on Facebook.

I grew up thinking $100 is a lot of money.

And that's when you realize that perception is purely emotional.

Things per se don't have much meaning. They only have the meaning you give them.

Life in that sense, only has the meaning you give it.

That's for the philosophical break with Malo.

Let's move on.

Business wise: I am testing 10 creatives daily in my working offers.

I am scaling those that work. I am making sure I have enough cashflow.

What needs to be done:

I am thinking CRO, retargeting (email + sms), upsells (email + sms).

I am also very happy to meet people daily and make new deals.

I had a great call with @jio97133 yesterday.

We spoke about our lives, shared thoughts about where we are standing and found a great opportunity to work together.

And it's when I realized that there is 2 ways to going about getting things done.

Looking for answers.
Looking for people with answers.

Now that's a big epiphany for me.

Because it discounts everything.

No wonder one of the best books in the history of books is: How to make friends and influence people.

In fact, your biggest 2 qualities are: Trustworthiness and like-ability.

You can be anything you want. If you are not likeable, you lost before the game started.

If people like you, they will go the extra mile for you.
They will give you everything you want.

And my epiphany in the last few weeks is that making friends comes with a sine qua none condition: Exposure.

So expose yourself. Expose your best self.

Start a follow-along. Answer questions. DM people. Send a cold email.

Get out and put your best self out there.

Trust first to be trusted.

Seek to understand before seeking to be understood.

And just be a nice kid. Honest. Not because it will make you rise to the pantheon of morality, but because it's the most selfish act you can make.

Collaboration is selfish. Kindness is selfish. Contribution is selfish.

Because if you give 99% of yourself and only get 1% back and do it with a gazillion people. You win. They win. Everybody wins.

TV has sold us on the lie that for you to to win, somebody has to lose.

Because everything is a zero-sum game.

The sea is a large enough place for the boats to never touch.

There is much more wealth than we can even own. And it's up for grabbing to everybody with a deep commitment to truth.

It's those very basic things of our daily lives that make us Thrive.

==

Now let's talk pure business..

In simple goals:

Continue to hire more graphiste designers to scale my offers even more.
Talk to my dev to finish building the API leads rerouting app we are building. (To re-route automatically to multiple clients)
Make a list of everything I have to optimize to improve conversion on my page and boost my profit by 15-20%.

Cheers.

I like this quote a lot and totally agree with what you have posted.

I LOVE this! They should make this mandatory knowledge in all elementary/high schools.

Can't wait to see you talk more about these!

For lead distribution - what's wrong with existing solutions like leadspedia? Although - for the price some of those services are charging, I suspect you could get it coded for cheaper, especially in the long run.

It's been a while since I posted here.

We had a very busy month, but things are finally taking shape for the future.

Moving forward, our business will be focused on two fronts

Leadgen

We hired a developer team to build a custom lead distribution system for us. Delivery date is set for next Monday.

We will be able to enrol private client easily, which means our average payout for every offer will get an extra 20-30%

We have cracked multiple leadgen offers in multiple geos and our goal is to create new verticals and introduce classic brands to a new way of marketing: Performance, result-focused, skin in the game type of marketing.

We are currently negotiating with a network of schools who offer online degrees in the MENA area, in order to generate leads for them.

They have a marketing budget of 1.5 millions per year that they throw on radio, and traditional media channels.

We strongly believe that we can reinvent the way multiple companies approach their marketing, because we truly believe the classic SMMA model, which doesn't involve rev share or an aspect of skin-in-the-gameness is doomed to fail in the long run.

We are currently spending around 500k a month on multiple leadgen offers on Facebook & Native and our goal is to triple our spending budget in the next 3 months.

Ecom

On the other side, we are focusing on building an operation focused on running ads for e-Commerce & information products on Facebook, Native, Snapchat/tiktok.

We hired a team of over 10 graphic designers to build an in-house production studio to make our own creatives for the multiple offers.

We also have good ties with multiple influencers' booking agencies and private agents around Europe.

Our goal in the next 3 months is to spend 500k a month on our ecom offers.

Looking for

If you know a very experience Facebook Media Buyers who scaled campaigns using manual bidding/cost cap, please reach out to me.
If you have a deep expertise with a given traffic source, please reach out to us, as we are willing to pay for coaching and pick your brain regarding the ins and out of the traffic source.

PS:

We will be at the Affiliate World Conference in Dubai next February 2022.

We will be moving to Medellin, Colombia around October, so if you are around, feel free to connect as well
