Hello,
So I was testing CPV Lab Pro on a VPS (Vultr). I have installed the tracker successfully and but seems to be having problem with adding a custom tracking domain.
I am hosting my lander on abc.com and want to use go.abc.com as the custom tracking domain. Using their guide here: https://doc.cpvlab.pro/custom-tracking-domains.html, I have setup a CNAME to the install domain of my tracker. But I think something else needs to be done, that is the 2 things mentioned in step 4 of that guide. Here's what needs to be done:
1. add the Custom Tracking Domain as an Addon Domain and define its Document Root to the same server path as Main Domain in cPanel for the Main CPV Lab Pro domain.
2. add a virtual host (vhost) in Apache on the Main Domain server for the Custom Domain to point to the same server path as Main Domain.
Does anyone here know how to achieve these 2 things on the server so as to get go.abc.com working as the custom tracking domain?
I talked to their support and they said they don't offer support for installs on VPS. Also their documentation only provides steps to do this via cpanel.
Let me tag them here, this way they might see your question sooner: @cpvlabpro
@matuloo you can delete this thread if you want to. The problem has been solved by a freelancer I hired from upwork. Also don't think CPV Lab team is going to reply as they don't provide support for VPS installs/custom domains w/o control panels, which they have reiterated in an email reply I received today.
Hi @matuloo,
Thanks for the tag... unfortunately we didn't got the notification for it, I need to double check those settings for notifications
So, from what I know @regjoe was answered by our support team, and as he mentioned above, the issue was a server-specific setting which I'm glad that got solved.
Our current custom tracking domains guide is general, not server-specific, but we will work on adding details for most common server types in the near future.
Cheers,
Radu
