Affbank VS Adplexity

Hi,

An offer I saw on Affbank doesn't seem visible on adplexity native. Any insights on why this could be and how to see the details of an offer on affbank?

Affbank doesn't seem provide the details like Adplexity does. e.g. Publishers By Duration, Device type, etc..

The offer I saw on Affbank has been published on Outbrain and Taboola, am wondering if different spy tools have different capabilities to scrape data on different networks?

Many Thanks!

Every spy has his own tools and methods.

James Bond likes to use cool gadgets that only Q can build. Susan Cooper in contrast has quite different methods.

No different with ad spy tools.

Many people try to avoid being found by them. So spy tools need to keep their scraping methods secret. And since they all have different methods their results also will not be identical.

Yup, different spytools show different results... of course, large part should be more or less identical, but there will be campaigns that one tool caught and the other one did not... and vice versa.

In your case, you found something on affbank that adplexity missed, but I can guarantee it will also be the other way around, there is stuff on adplexity that affbank missed. It could also be a shortlived campaign that wasnt running when the bots of adplexity have been scrapping the content, hard to say.

Generally speaking, adplexity is usually on the top of the game and in most cases has more content scrapped than the competitors.

Just wondering which spy tool may have more data from Taboola, Outbrain?
Adplexity seems to have more data from Revcontent but not much from Taboola...

More native pros/gurus recommended Taboola, Outbrain and said RevContent is very US-centric and has a lot of bot traffic. Is this true?

Many thanks!

My advice is to manually spy. I use Anstrex and what I see live on Taboola is often different than Adplexity. Between the spy tools trying to aggregate what they see to give you an idea of what is running were plus the fact they can't catch everything, I find manually spying to be more helpful. I see the tool as giving me ideas of what might be running, while manual spying gives me more concrete ideas of what is really active.

I do spy manually too, quite often. But I also use spytools as a great source of creatives to try and modify. So yes, it's definitely a good idea to do some manual research as well.

I can confirm that, most of their traffic seems to be from the US and they do have somewhat higher % of bots compared to taboola or outbrain.

Can you please share how to spy manually for native ads properly? I tried a few methods shared on Youtube but most of them seem outdated.

Thank you.

Basically, you just need a VPN to "pretend" that you're browsing from a GEO that you are interested in... then just browse the websites that monetize via the native network you are interested in.

It also helps to have some user agent (spoofer) installed, in case you want to narrow it down a bit... so for example if you want to see Ads targeting a specific OS such as Android or iOs.

It's a time consuming approach but it does help to get a bigger picture.
