How to safely migrate campaigns from Voluum to Binom

I'm migrating my tracker from Voluum to Binom. Below are steps I'm going to do

1. Update Click URL in the lander
2. Change campaign URL in the traffic source from Voluum campaign URL to Binom campaign URL

Is there any other steps I miss ? Currently I've run many campaigns (from the same affiliate network) and don't want to mess it up. Is there any risk when migrating all campaigns I should pay attention to ?. If yes is there anyway I can run both trackers at the same time so that I can gradually migrate one by one instead of all campaign in one go.

Do you know aboput the import feature from Binom?

1. Update Click URL in the lander
I would use Sublime Editor for it, there you can edit files in bulk.

Then you can just search for the Voluum click URL and replace it with the Binom click URL, takes only a second for hundreds of files.

For affiliate networks you have to take care of your postback.

It has to be switched to the Binom postback, otherwise you won´t receive conversion info in your tracker.

You have to do the changes anyway so I would just do it.

When you try to run both trackers together you only have one additional thing that could get messed up.

You got 2 steps covered, but you will need to do a few more.

- update the postback url at your affiliate network, which leads to another of your questions:

is there anyway I can run both trackers at the same time
Usually not, because most networks cannot work with more than one postback url for any given offer.

- setup all the tracking tokens you have been using, I havent used binom myself but I guess their system is somewhat different from Voluum. So make sure all the tokens you need are setup on the new tracker, before updating the campaign urls.

- are you using some tokens to display something on the landing pages? For example country/state/city etc? If so, you need to update these too.

Now some obvious stuff, but wanted to mention it anyways:

- setup the offers on the new tracker, again, the syntax might be somewhat different based on the new token setup.

- setup the landing pages on the new tracker too

Is there any risk when migrating all campaigns I should pay attention to ?
Not really, just test the new setup before you go live and don't forget to update all the links and the stuff I mentioned. Binom has an import function from Voluum I believe, so it shouldn't be that hard to migrate, people are doing it all the time.

EDIT: Just noticed tha twinaxe posted while I was writing this post, so definitely use the import function

@nguyengaren1234 Just to avoid confusion, in the landing page code there´s nothing that needs to be updated.

The tokens in the LP script relate to the parameters in the URL and these can be the same as before, it has nothing to do with the tokens that the trackers use.

I implemented the migration before receiving your comments and my migration became a mess

- Firstly, I forgot to update the postback URL in the Affiliate Network and as you guys already pointed out, there are no conversions post back to my tracker which results in no conversions in my traffic source. Because my TS received no conversions, it screw up some of my CPA campaign performance.
- Secondly, I did use Voluum import function of Binom but somehow Binom failed to deliver a smooth import. Imported campaigns don't carry landing page over. One single offer in multiple Voluum campaigns duplicate itself into multiple identical offers in Binom with each offer belonging to one campaign. To make thing worse, my AN just updated the URL of that single offer, and now instead of just updating one offer I have to go to each campaign to update the URL of each individual offer.
Thirdly, after running for about half a day my tracker returned a "502 Bad Gateway" error. It turned out my server is down because it is not strong enough to handle the traffic (at peak 500 clicks/minute). It took half an hour to upgrade the server to 2 core 4GRAM.

Finally it's back to working now. Hopefully it will go smoothly for the rest of the day.

I have one more question. How to set up the campaign cost correctly in Binom ?. Currently I set it up as CPC (Auto) but I don't know if that can reflect correctly the smartCPM cost from Propeller Ads. What is the meaning of CPM/CPA (Auto) Cost in the figure below

You "upgraded" and now you´re running pops on a server with 2 cores and 4GB RAM?

Seriously, get a better server.

When you run on too weak hardware it can absolutely become your bottleneck.

For Propeller just keep it at CPC Auto for all campaigns (CPC, SmartCPM and CPA Goal).

Just make sure that you add the {cost} token in the trafficsource setting

What if he uses something that Voluum used to detect? I mean some customs "var" tokens that can be parsed from the url to change something on the LP? I used this a few times

Its probably not the case, just wanted to mention it to be safe.

@twinaxe: Wow this server is significant cheaper than the one I'm using. My current 2 core, 4 GB RAM on Amazon AWS server cost nearly the same as the one you recommended.
