Insane bids for URLs/KWs on TV

Just started using TV's "new" high volume targets feature.
So I'm getting an email where I see URLs with bids of 0.40c per impression. That's $400/CPM ?!?
Also lots of kws with bids that will put Adwords CPC to shame.
Who is banking on those, and the big question, how can you bank on those?

My first thought it's simply agencies with a budget and no ROI metrics (not direct response advertisers) inflating bids.

I neglected PPV for a while, getting back to it now. Zero success so far, but lets see how it goes. Campaign study coming soon.

For example usnewsuniversitydirectory.com $1.1580/Impression.

From my experience 90% of these bids are on the same url as the offer they are promoting ( or even better , on the signup page ).

Just think if the offer pays $30 / sale and generally bidding on the signup url converts from 5%-10% .

I have had campaigns like this is the past bidding 70 cents per view.

Yea, I had that thought. Though from my past experience I never achieved those high CVR to justify the crazy bid wars. But then again it's all about the offer

Yeah it depends a lot of the offer.

To make it work you must have some significant stats , meaning to run the offer for at least2-3 days.

This way you know the true EPC and if the bidding wars are crazy you can do day parting.

i had a url that was converting ok at $2 a couple of years ago. Of course some dickhead always had to be ahead of me. I would have been happy sharing the top bid but of course the dickhead always had to have the number one spot and I wouldn't let him. I just don't understand some people.
