LP CTR to aim for when running e-commerce offers?

Hi all. I'm back to learning native on RevContent and i'm wondering what is a good CTR on advertorials for those typical e-commerce gadget offers with $50-$70 payouts?

A few months back, i ran a Starscope campaign, but i made the mistake of not hosting the advertorials myself, so i had no clue how the widgets were performing CTR-wise.

So now i'm back testing another offer, and i'm hosting the advertorials myself and hoping for a less costly, more aggressive optimization process. I'm bidding $0.55 and so far i've been cutting widgets that have <5% CTR after ~33 visitors. Is this too soon to cut off a widget? And what is considered a good CTR on these e-commerce advertorials?

I think GiddyUp shoots for 20-30% on their presell advertorials.

Obviously there's a balance though in that you can make them shorter and have more buttons higher up and be more ambiguous about price and get a higher ctr but then a lower cvr on the backend, or you can have them be much clearer and announce the price on the presell and only have buttons/links at the very bottom, and your ctr will be lower and backend cvr higher.

I think a good balance and 20-30% is probably ideal since that then allows you to utilize it for blocking bad widgets based on ctr. If you didn't need to worry about that though you could probably make the overall funnel work at as low as 5% if it was a super clear, unambiguous presell advertorial with the full price on it, etc.

Take that with a grain of salt though as I'm more of a lead-gen guy than an ecom one

Yea this one states the final price multiple times and has buttons and hotlinks all throughout, as well as that neat little scrolly box on the side that slides down as the user scrolls.

Not to derail my own thread, but on a sidenote, as a lead-gen guy you ever try those freebie rebill tactical products like flashlights and stuff? Any promise there? I'm tempted to give it a shot, but don't wanna spread myself too thin with how much $$$ native requires for testing alone...

I've tried everything man lol Well, except stuff that I think is totally unethical like fake dating sites, etc.

It seems as though rebills are primarily just being used in the nutra space right now, haven't seen them much on physical ecommerce products lately, although I'm sure they're out there

But yeah, offer sourcing is probably the most important thing in natives, so just spy like crazy, get a VPN and surf sites with native ads on them from various countries, see what's working, reach out to offer owners, etc. 99% of the profits I've made have been from 4-5 offers or offer types, out of hundreds tried.
