Hey, (Sorry its a bit of a long read but you should know)
New member here, quick introduction: I am an experienced advertiser/media buyer on all major social media platforms, having 0 knowledge about affiliate marketing, the only thing I think I did close was spending $5000 on Outbrain and Taboola with 0 ROI on those platforms but an increase of 200% in retargeting ads on my other platforms (was a test). oky enough
So woke up today to see a transaction of $100 from STM on my phone, I had forgotten I signed up to stm using a free referral from Ad world conference 2021, so I was gonna send a message to support for a refund and cancellation if that's possible since I rarely get the time to test out affiliate marketing and read here, but don't get me wrong this place is a serious treasure trove and I wish I had stumbled upon earlier but just not now
Anyways getting to the main issue, I am currently struggling with a project, a very kind and long term client of mine is hosting a virtual summit its launching on June 26th 2021, I was informed on 28th may and started running ads from 1st June, (really short time for Facebook ads)
So far it has been a total failure, I have never failed to such a degree in my entire career, no idea what is wrong, we are currently $2000 down the drain with only 2 purchases (that came from existing email list), compared to my clients friend who got 300-400 ticket scales in a month for similar theme.
My platform is Facebook, google keeps rejecting the ads due to the nature of the topics, sorry a little bit about the project:
Project : Virtual Beauty Summit/Expo
Audience: 33-65+ African American Women Strictly
Topic: Women who want to reduce the signs of aging, look beautiful, want to have healthy hair, want to repair themselves from the inside, want to know about surgeries and secret celebrity makeovers,
Basically it covers a lot of things related to beauty specifically for mature African American Women.
There will be 8 speakers, they are quite renowned in their fields
Last night in desperate attempts to see why I am failing, I searched the internet for similar successful virtual summits, and one thing kept getting flagged "Use Affiliates" yup that's right, they cursed Facebook, and praised affiliates like some heavenly bodies with golden balls studded with diamonds and swear to run the promo just "10 days/ a week before" REALLYY???. But here comes the bad part, no one is saying how? where to find these affiliates? what networks ? of course they want me to buy there $3000+ course or service to get that info and I really don't wanna do that.... but affiliate marketing is what they are doing!

What should I do? Do I post an offer on affiliate networks? Where can I find affiliates who can promote a conference to such a targeted audience, I have zip codes if that works? Or Do I just give up with a ridiculous reason? (never have I done this)
