Tips to make your subject lines engage
Tip Friday!
Influencer Marketing Hub says, 90% of marketers report a measurable lift in business results, attributable to personalization, and 58% say that lift is greater than 10%.
Tips to generate engaging subject lines:
- Keep it short and clear: between 6 and 10 words.
- Be personal and friendly.
- Try to use casual language such as "How was your day" or, "I wish you had a great weekend".
- Offer a quick solution such as a tool, checklist, practices, tips, etc.
- Build curiosity.
- Tell a story.
- The use of the most popular and appealing words like trends, top, best, practices, ways, etc.
- Use numbers: Statistics in email subject lines confirm that including numbers have higher open rates and reply rates.
- Test emojis and the most soft trigger words accurately.
What are your thoughts? Have these practices worked out well with you?

Based on my limited mailing experience... numbers and emojis can have a dramatic impact.
Short, carefuly crafted lines that trigger emotions and build up curiosity can work very well too.

From my personal experiences in working with email marketing sequences, I would say that subject lines often can have a crucial role in open and reply rates so it's really important to pay a lot of attention in writing them. I agree with you that they need to be short as users will only scan it quickly, that they ideally could offer a quick solution, or at least wake some curiosity which can be done with formating them in some kind of a question. As for emojis, I actually tested email with and without them, and I didn't notice some huge change in results, maybe in some niches, and for some offers, they can work better, but I would say that we should still be somewhat careful with them, as our main goal is to look professional and leave that impressions to the leads.
